Carson MicroPen LED Lighted 24x-53x Magnification Microscope Pen (MP-300), Black

This is just so amazing! We got it for our 11 yr. old son for Christmas. You can see every part of a hair shaft, take it anywhere and view everything that normally wouldn't fit under a traditional microscope. However, it IS the size of a regular pen, and he lost it within a few weeks. So be very careful and keep it in a safe spot!

Optics worked briefly but broken (showing only a light circle) 2 minutes after I opened the box. Turning the rings didn't help. I didn't even shake it, but who knows what happened on its way to me -- the box has no filling/protection material inside it! Only thing working is the LED and so it appears I have just bought a flashlight. Ugh...

It’s the size of a ball point pen. Probably says that in the description and I blew past that. Functionally it’s awesome! Extremely sharp magnification

I am electronic engineer and I work in the repair of equipment. This a great tool, it is very versatile because of its small size. I recommend it for the workshop and tool wear in briefcase.

I bought this hoping for a handy little pocket microscope, but it only worked for about two weeks before the LED stopped turning on completely. Up until then, it was serviceable but not impressive. Focusing was the biggest issue. Even at the lower magnification, it took a lot of fiddling to get anything close to clear, and most images came out soft or blurry. It’s lightweight and compact, but the overall feel is more toy-grade than a useful tool. If you're looking for something fun for kids or quick casual use, it might be fine. For anything more serious, it just doesn’t deliver. I’ll be returning it.

This is a neat little scope. It fits right into.... well almost anything you want while traveling around. Optically though it's a little tricky to find and keep focus on your subject you're trying to look at. The construction is also something to watch out for. It was in a padded pocket of my backpack, and while shuffling around in there the case started to split in 2. The optics still work, but I can't seem to get the case to fit tightly back together. I decided to buy the Carson Microbright Plus handheld scope for a few dollars more and I cannot be happier with that purchase. That little pocket scope is easy to use, portable and delivers a crisp image. Working outdoors in the mountains full time - I bring that scope everywhere with me. This MicroPen sadly I usually leave at home.

Very nice. With a little patience you can see a lot of detail you cannot see with other magnifiers that claim to be "just as strong".

It's not very powerful, but extremely easy to use microscope. I had a lot of fun with my kids using this thing - checking pixel structure of cell phone screen, etc.

Worked out of the box unlike some other ones you can buy. perfect for checking out small insects etc.
