Hybrid Theory is rock band, Linkin Park's debut album and was released on October 24, 2000. A huge success worldwide, this album put them in the spotlight of the music industry. Hybrid Theory won a Best Rock Album award at the 2002 Grammy Awards. It took the eleventh spot in Billboards list of Hot 200 Albums of the Decade. It garnered a whopping sale of 30 million copies worldwide, making it the top selling debut album of the 21st century. Hybrid Theory is included in Robert Dimery's 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die and in a couple of other lists including Rocksound's 101 Modern Classic Album of the Last 15 Years where it ranked first. Hybrid Theory was certified Diamond in 2005 by the RIAA for having sold ten million copies in the country. The first track, "Papercut" infuses drum beats followed by heavy alternative rock setting the perfect backdrop for Bennington's powerful voice screaming about paranoia. It is followed by "One Step Closer", their first single. A head-banging number with a rich chorus and memorable guitar riffs. It's the song that introduced them to the world and did so with a bang!Crawling, the fifth track presents a dark, sullen intro that leads way to Chester's powerful vocals belting out the deep, emotional words of the song which were inspired by his struggle with substance abuse. He said in an interview with Noisecreep, "Crawling is about feeling like I had no control over myself in terms of drugs and alcohol". The song won an award for Best Rock Performance at the Grammy 2002 Awards. The eighth track, "In The End" is one of the most famous of the album. A piano intro leads way to heavy electronic drum beats and guitars while Mike Shinoda raps out the lyrics in perfect rhythm. It peaked at number two on the Billboard Hot 100 and was Billboard's most played rock song of the decade.Buy this Hybrid Theory audio CD at online store today!

Hybrid Theory - one of my favorites but nothing like listening to the original.
Hybrid Theory is Linkin Park's first album and have listened to it a lot. I liked it so much that I bought the original disc. Nothing like the original. All songs rock. Every song on Hybrid Theory is a brilliant masterpiece. My favorites include "Crawling", "In the end", "Point of Authority", "By myself" and most of the rest. Its a show stealer and a must have for Linkin Park fans and Rock fans.
