Perfect for musical instruments
I use this both indoors and outdoors as a protected outlet for two keyboards (my other gear is protected by two rackmounted Merit Series Power Conditioner s.)One rule of thumb I use is to not overload protected power strips. The two keyboards I plug into this does not come close to overtaxing this device or power outlets into which I plug it.Some features I love include the 25 foot cord, which is heavy duty and os sufficiently long for any conceivable placement situation I will encounter. And because the cord is heavy gauge, and the housing is metal, this protected outlet is designed for rigorous use.Tripp Lite's reputation for quality, reliability and safety is another reason I purchased this unit. I am a firm believer in safety and will not cut corners.I live in Central Florida, which is notorious for power problems, so not using well designed protection is inviting disaster, which can be very costly considering my investment in the gear this is protecting. Thus far I have had zero problems, and judging from other reviewers I expect that to continue. This is a professional-grade piece of gear and it designed to protect your equipment and to last if properly cared for.

Solid and Quality Product
Thus far, 5 stars. This product, though intended for professional use, ( hence the yellow color to indicate potential hazard via OSHA guidelines) is part of what I choose for home use.Not going to pretend that I have the techie know how of many reviewers. However, knew I wanted a trusted name with purchases. Think it is good advice to consider $ sense in multi-tasking when starting out with these purchases. Knowing that my desire is to expand protection in this line, I need to call their customer service # for the best advise. That said, knew that this item would more than adequalty protect TV, and a few associated items. Ultimate plan is to have available in garage, or similar for those tasks.I showed this item to a close friend, who is a retired mechanic, and he was VERY impressed with the quality, so much so that I recently decided to send him one as a gift. For the time being, I am okay with hiding behind indoor equipment the bright yellow color, and heavy duty appearance of this item.Suggestion to all considering this type o protection. Highly essential that you add a layer of protection, but be an informed consumer. NOT isolating this company, per se, but of the sometimes gimmicks overall, in this industry. Do not get overly confident in the glaring insurance policies atop packaging, with offer of mega-thousands in protection. Read the fine print inside the packaging, and you will see multiple stipulations and exclusions. For example, if it is a computer that you want to protect, this particular coverage requires that your phone line, etc. also have surge protection. You can not have this item hooked up a unit that provides battery backup to your computer. Many etc's. Read the material, and store it safely.Goal is for many to have peace of mind with adequate protection. Thank you Lord, have never had the reason to file claim of anything of this nature. However, have known several who had reason, and each was shocked with the "gotchas." Just be smart, and Google for any BS legal techie info in ANY warranty/insurance.

Good power strip for the workbench. The plastic ends keep cords tidy.
This power strip is very handy above my workbench. It has plenty of room for power transformer blocks and the plastic ends keep loose cord ends tidy. The bright color helps me find it easily.

solid, reliable, well made and sounds good (?!?!?)
this is for the electric guitarists and bassists out there: skip all that furman junk and power conditioner blah blah, blah. and for the love of G major, get rid of that orange or green home depot extension cord you've been using since high school. go for this and get the 25 footer. its cheaper and it really does sound better. especially compared to that old extension cord.if you've got a tube guitar amp or a bass amp that can seriously thump, this power strip will be able to keep up with the temporary energy surges necessary to fully transmit the punch of your sound. surge protectors often have limits placed that even things out too much for dynamic live music. they're great for computers and tvs, just not your marshall stack. i suggest googling "do i really need a power conditioner" and reviewing the discussions on gearslutz. i used to think i needed to spend thousands to get clean, clear-sounding power for critical audio applications. now, i know better.this particular power strip is made to power things like buzz saws which can temporarily demand more juice right when started up or when jammed into a dense piece of wood. that kind of power allows your tube amp to jump, as designed, when you hit your strings. all while providing clean, noise free power.when i purchased this strip, i wasn't expecting any audible difference. i was mainly looking for something to protect my tube amps from dangerous voltage spikes. but the improvement in dynamic range and punch was noticeable from the first moment of powering up, especially in the low end and even at low volumes. the tonal quality didn't change, it didn't color the tone. switching from steel to nickle strings is a bigger tonal profile change than this, it still sounded like my tube amp with its characteristic tonal profile. it also didn't make my amp any louder, either, not that i need extra volume, lol.it was subtly punchier and just a smidge more solid sounding in the low end, as compared to my old 25ft home depot extension chord. considering buying a second. still haven't bought a ferman rack mounted conditioner, lol.

High surge rating.
The format makes it easy to store the excess cord and convenient to mount on a board beside the lathe.
