I love this collapsible rod and reel combo. It's an excellent weight and balance for a portable system. I really enjoy bringing a stowable rod and reel when I take out my portable kayak. The rod is very sturdy and well built, has excellent casting action and responsivness with enough backbone to pull fish out of structure. Reel is a good size with very smooth operation. Highly recommend.

This is a solid rod and reel combo. The rod is rated for 1/4-1 oz weight lure. The line weight doesn't appear to be indicated, but I would assume 8-15 lb. mono or braid. The rod shows MF (medium fast), and is rigid. This would/will make a great bass rod and is what I intend to use it for. The ferrules are tight, the rod finish is super smooth. This seems a real good combo for less than the cost of most reels, plus it's compact!

Haven’t used yet. But it’s sturdy and folds in and out smoothly. Or should i say telescopic. Reel works smoothly. Just need to try on a huge Bass and will continue reviewing.

Disappointed with this product. This could be a nice hiking/backpacking rod if it were built stronger. Pros: The reel is nicer than I expected. Pretty smooth. Easy to assemble. Collapsing the rod is easy to do and it’s compact enough to put inside a pack or strap it to the outside. Cons: really the only negative is the shaft. It’s not durable. The shaft snapped on my 4th time using this rod. So now it’s useless. I guess you get what you pay for but I expected this would last a few seasons and not just a few uses.UPDATE: Customer service reached out to me on their own and replaced the rod free of charge. Hassle free- I had the replacement with a few days of them reaching out. I haven’t had a chance to use it yet so time will tell if this one lasts. Five stars on their customer service.

I've seen many comments about pole braking. Yes, this style of pole does brake. I've owned half a dozen over 40 years, and they do brake. That's why I like to see this type of setup with the cover on. These poles are for hikers, bikers, or to keep in your car. This is a good-looking rig that functions great. It is a very responsive and stable setup. The Rob attaches firmly to the pole and is very responsive when you get something on the line.

This is based on initial "out of the box" as well as a full day usage heavy usage.I had been thinking about purchasing a telescopic rod where I could conveniently travel either up and down long stretches of river or even on a plane without investing in expensive storage solutions. I was pleasantly surprised but this combo (Carbon Fiber Telescopic Fishing Pole).In the BOX- rod- reel- carrying pouch (for rod only)Fully extended, the rod measures 6'2" while in a Travel Mode, the rod can collapse to 16 inches. The rod is felt strong with the guides being very thick and sturdy. In my opinion, that is a great feature when storing/travelling. Other rods of similar value, will have wire-like guides which are prone to bending and affecting fishing technique. My only suggestion would be to limit the amount of metal utilized for the rod. I think that it could be prone to rust over time.The reel was probably the biggest surprise. It was made more of metal than plastic which is what you want and opposite of the rod. It felt really good in my hands and handled drag really well. It has the capacity for 8-12 LBS line. The reel felt extremely smooth compared to what I was expecting for the price point.I was able to take the combo out and travel through moderate thick bush to do field tests. We probably made about 200-225 casts, mixture of flips and hard casts - using various spinners, grubs and powerbait. The rod/reel also made it through 300 yrs of moderate bush and still felt/sounded smooth on retrievals.The verdict- I found this rod/reel combo to be of high value for the price point- I felt the reel (especially) was of higher quality and one could also easily pair it with another rod to preference.- I would suggest Plussino could find a way to make their reels only compatible with their rods to lock in consumer branding.- This is an ideal fishing set up for the traveler and the fisherman targeting panfish, small bass or medium sized trout.Hope this helps you in your purchase,Good Luck!

I bought two of these Plusinno Carbon Fiber Telescopic Fishing Rod Sets and, to be honest, I wasn't expecting a great deal for the price. I just wanted something convenient for the occasional fishing trip and thought they'd be good enough for a day out.I have to say, I've been pleasantly surprised. The whole kit comes in a nice compact case that's easy to store, the rod itself feels surprisingly decent, and the reel is very smooth. For anyone who fishes occasionally rather than every weekend, this setup is pretty much perfect.My friend and I took them out for a day's fishing. Admittedly, neither of us caught any fish, but we still had a fantastic day and the equipment performed exactly as we'd hoped. The telescopic design makes it incredibly convenient to transport and set up, which is one of the main reasons I bought it in the first place.Considering the price, I genuinely feel like I've got far more than I expected. It's an ideal kit to keep in the back of the car so you're always ready for a spontaneous fishing trip.Highly recommended. If you're looking for an affordable, portable fishing rod set for casual use, I really don't think you'll be disappointed.

Good product for the price. Packs down to a pretty small profile and is pretty light. Capable of handling a wide variety of species from small brook trout to decent sized pike. Paired it with 20lbs braid and has decent casting distance. Small hole at the bottom of the rod useful for keeping lure on the line while the rod is collapsed. 5/5 Stars for me!

Looks good and feels good so far. I spooled it up with braided line and seems to work great through the eyes. Seems solid enough and light. A good set I would say so far.
