The Magnificent Seven Ride! [DVD]

Catching up with the SEVEN sequels, I confess to being pleasantly surprised with this final effort. Van Cleef always had gravitas and here he is on top form as Lawman Chris pursuing horrible teenage mudrere "Shelley" and getting involved, inevitably) with a hige gan of Mexican outlaws terrorising a town where only women remain after the outlaws captured all the men. Once again the success of these films depends largely on the actors who play the seven. Here we have Michael Callan (good), Luke Askew,William lucking, Jame Sikking Pedro Armendariz, Ed Lauter, all different and good but not quite as good as the original "7" - who is?? Stefanie Powers shines in a thankless role, an d mariette Hartley is wasted. Plenty of action, a good satisfying finish with a soppy ending, but hey.... I enjoyed this one. Good quality, picture sound and subtitles.

That was an excellent movie. I loved it. I really thought young Shelly was a great idiot by stepping out of line again immediately after getting let off, as if he didn't really learn his lesson.

I just love westerns

Bought this DVD to complete my set of M7.Don't know why I bothered really, the film is very routine, standard plot, with mediocre acting.Only for the diehard M7 fan.
