Surprising quality at a great price.
I had an itch for a new knife, I didn't want to spend a lot of money, but I wanted something a little different. After looking around a bit I came across Kubey knives. So I gave them a shot, and I'd have to say I'm pleasantly surprised. The carbon fiber is well done with just a slight feel of grip with nice contours. Detent feels solid, but not too much. Lock up is solid and early. Blade is centered with a nice grind and finish and opens with a nice snap. Blade shapes are a personal thing and this is the first Nessmuk style I've used and I can see the attraction. The clip is well done and places the knife in a good position in the pocket. The only nit pic I can make is that the the stand offs could be maybe a millimeter shorter. That would make it even that much better in the pocket, but might not feel as nice in the hand. Overall a very nice knife for the money with fit and finish on par with Benchmade, Kershaw, and Spyderco.

Super sick, but...
So I have only had 2 Kubey knives before this one. And I absolutely loved them. Both I purchased as a second owner off Instagram. Both were in Brand New condition. I can not believe the quality, fit and finish, action, detent, ergonomics, and quality materials you get with these knives, at the price they ate sold. This knife is no different. It has incredible action, very smooth, perfect detent, perfect centering. It has 100% real not peel ply, or G10 laminate, but real carbon fiber handle scales. And the carbon fiber is void free. D2 blade steel, real D2 steel at almost 60-61 Rockwell. It's got a super heavy Stonewash to the blade which makes this a great work finish. Its lightweight, but solid, blade shape is extremely EDC friendly, and ergos are fantastic. But... there is one deal breaker for me. I may return it just because of this. It was freaking super glued together. I mean the screws have had red lock tight or I believe literally some sort of super, impossible glue or something used to make sure we as buyers never, ever get into, open and or clean this knife. I used a blow dryer for over an hour, off and on to try to listen the glue, NOTHING. It freaking stripped 2 different T-6 Wiha torx drivers. I mean literally disfigured the tip to a twisted un-usable torx driver. A WIHA? WHAT THE HELL? The freaking screws themselves must be made out of some super steel, because they did not even strip, but my Wiha torx drivers did. So based on that, I hate to be so picky, but I do not think I want it. I have to be able to take it apart, I have to be able to clean it. Plus I always take apart chinese made knives when I first get them because they do not use good oil, they all seem to use grease. So if you are not like me, and you do not mind not being able to take it apart, then buy this knife. It is top notch, the best in class at this price!!!

Yes it's everything it claims to be.
Yes it's D2 (or another steel that acts just like D2, which would be difficult to do). Yes the scales are real carbon fiber all the way through and not a laminate over g-10. The carbon fiber is excellently done, it has a slight texture to it (not that shiny smooth stuff), a very attractive pattern (interlocking figure 8's kind of) in the weave and is 3D milled nicely. The action is great, on ceramic bearings and detent ball, very smooth and free. If you like very strong detents you'll love this. The grip is very comfortable in shape. The fit and finish were very good. Solid lock up. Came decently sharp for a factory job. The blade shape is fairly unique, reminiscent of an old 1800's style butcher knife. All the stats are accurate. Drawbacks. The clip is very tight and isn't easy to fix since it's milled titanium (so you can't just bend it out). It's kinda thick behind the edge due to the blade shape and grind type. Though it is "lightweight for it size" the liners are not skeletonized, a missed opportunity to make it just plain "lightweight." Either/or. No gimping, a big plus for me but not for someone that likes gimping. As mentioned the detent is strong, no way to fail to flip it, for me it's very, very close to too strong though, I'd personally prefer it a little less so. Overall in my opinion as a budget knife guy it has a good case for best knife fifty dollars and under. I've got multiple knives from bestech, CIVIVI, kizer vanguard, tangram, ruike, steel will, real steel, ganzo, kershaw, crkt, spyderco and cold steel and it meets or exceeds even the best from these brands at this price or just above. Slap a known name brand on it like spyderco, WE, kizer prime and you could easily double or triple the price and no one would complain.

High Quality
This knife is a high quality product the D-2 blade is very sharp and hold the edge well as a bonus it is fairly easy to resharpen to a razor blade level. Additionally the knife is light due to the carbon fiber scales. With all the features ( D-2 Blade, Carbon fiber scales, and ceramic ball bearings ) this knife should sell for 3 times as much as it does and worth every penny.

just a perfect mix of carbon fiber, compact design and elegance!
i actually returned the first one i ordered but missed it so much had to order it again. i felt i already had enough spydercos benchmades and ZT s to satisfy my needs but this knife is just so SCHWEET! only thing its missing is super steel eg sv30 or 35 but D2 is adequate for a gentlemen's carry knife. beautiful carved carbon fiber scales and velvety smooth deployment. no major knife company would sell this nice an EDC for 58 bucks! grab one now before this deal goes away.
