Great tool for any amp nerd
I love this head switcher and use it for both band and testing purposes. Since I'm building my own amps this is a great tool to compare differences by removing the biggest variable - speaker and cabinet. You may be surprised how similar many amps sound when run through the same setup. In a band setting it's great to have one set for rhythm/crunch and another for leads using a simple foot switch (slingshot). Two benefit vs a/b box and two cabs is that with this setup the unused head is dead silent, and it's a lot easier to carry. The 20ms lag is a non issue for me. Yes, it's another thing to bring and more cables, but that's all worth it to me. One thing worth mentioning is at first I almost sent it back because of strange noise. This turned out to be because the ground switch was not in the supposed default setting, so check that if you hear anything unusual. Other than that simple switch change I've had no issues whatsoever and it appears to be totally safe for the standby amp. I fully trust it with the 10 amps I have.

Unusable
I purchased this to switch between my Axe FX III and my JCM2000 DSL 100. When switched to my DSL 100 it makes a constant loud piercing noise that does not go away. Amp has brand new tubes along with new cables. I have emailed technical support to radial engineering twice. No response. Will be returning product.Edit:After finding the number to contact Radial. I was able to talk with a rep. They let me know that the VT is not designed for solid state amps and recommended the Radial TS. Unfortunately the TS is discontinued.

Outstanding product, if it's what you need!
From '95 though '05, I designed and built one of a kind custom tube guitar amps under the registered trademark, "Hep Cat Amp®". I always kept one of these amp head selectors on my bench to allow me to A-B different amp designs through the same speaker cabinet. This is a 5 star product, and it's built to last! I foolishly sold mine and am here to buy another!PS: You can hear one of my amps here on Amazon on my CD, "Hallways". But, there's other Steve Halls, so search for, Steve Hall Hallways. All songs were recorded on a Hep Cat Amps® amplifier, except for , "Got Everything I Need", for which I used Joe Louis Walker's '59 Fender 4x10 Bassman. This isn't an ad! I'm retired at 73!
