Novel and effective
A common sense, yet revolutionary approach to encourage a healthy attitude towards food and moving one's body as a means of investing in one's health. I really appreciated the science shared with regard to why diets don't work and can be so harmful. I've read so many diet books over the last few decades yet this book has spoken to me on an entirely new level. Since reading it I have been aware that I've been much more aware of treating my body with respect and this has had a gentle influence on my daily choices - I'm pleased with the dialogue running through my head and feel that I'm on the right track to establishing a consistently sane approach to my health. Sincere thanks to the author.

Comprehensive study
My complaints about some of the anti-diet books out there are mainly that they don't cover the science behind dieting, deprivation and eating. This one does. OK if you don't like science, the entire first half of the book is going to drive you nuts, but for me it was very satisfying to see someone putting the effort in and really examining the literature available.it's not easy, but at least it gives those of us who rate overweight or obese on the BMI scale some ammunition to fight back with when we go to see a doc with an ear infection and are prescribed weight loss!!
