Sharp and effective
I have nothing negative to say. I love this knife. It is quite pricey but if you're looking to upgrade, these (Nakiri sg2) were worth it for me.After using this knife for a while, I am still happy with it and decided to purchase another Enso sg2 knife and went to see if the prices were about the same since amazon is having a "sale', but the price jump from less than a year ago is a no go for me.

Sold me a dull used knife
The moral to this review is, always look at an item closely when you receive it. I do believe this is a good knife. I had previously bought an Enso SG2, it was razor sharp, I used it for at least a year before I had to even think about sharpening it. I bought this one July 28,2025 and it sat un-opened until just a few days ago when I decided to check it out and put it thru its paces so to speak. The first thing that I noticed was that the neat little tab that you can use to remove it from the box was missing. And the little piece of paper that I think has to do with the authenticity was also missing. And the knife itself has the sharpness of a 3 dollar supermarket kitchen knife that has been used to saw bones. Its pretty much useless until I sharpen it, and these knives are extremely difficult to get right when sharpened. This was a returned knife that the company passed straight on to me. Right now its a 299 dollar letter opener. I will never do business with this company again, and as I said, the moral to the story is check whatever you buy in a very timely manner!

Very sharp excellent Nakiri knife
I was researching Nakiri knives on Amazon. I wanted a Japanese made knife. I have a Shun Chef knife, and Petty knife. I looked a the Shun on Amazon, but it said China as country of origin. Not sure if that listing was correct. I found the Enso brand. Even tho I had it one day, I started using it right away on onions, carrots, and green peepers. It went through them like butter. So worth the price. If you are a cook/chef, and need a great vegetable knife, I highly recommend the Enso Nakiri. With proper use it will last a long time.

Wonderful knife. You won’t regret buying.
Quality, craftsmanship, and performance are top notch (off the scale?). I’ve been a Trident and Wustof fan and owner for decades, but this one knife made me switch. After owning this for 2 weeks, we decided to take the very expensive plunge and purchased the set with knife block and scissors. One of the best purchases we’ve made! Can’t say enough about how good they feel and how they perform. Sharp as a razor straight from the box. I’m glad we went with the SG2 versions also. Just didn’t care for the hand hammered look of the others and preferred the steel types and hardness in the SG2 (ask me again when I try to sharpen them...). Highly recommended.

Less than 1.5 year and already dull
Very disappointed in this product!! Bought it on 12/2021 and already it has become dull. Not sure what to do since I bought it paying so much $$$. I have contacted the company will see what they suggest 🤷♀️

Very sharp
I use this knife exclusively for cutting vegetables. Its a pleasure to use this - sharp and extremely well balanced. Needless to say one has to be careful while handling this to prevent any injuries. I also have a Shun - same size Nakiri. I can say that Enso is wee bit sharper than the Shun, at least my copy is and Enso perhaps feels a tiny bit better in my hands.

I can’t believe the sharpness right out of box!
I love this knife. It’s not only beautiful, it’s right out of the box so sharp it slides through cheese, raw meat and vegetables.
