Youshiko Wireless Colour Weather Station I tried a number of different weather stations before I bought this one. This was the most expensive which probably explains why it was the last! My problem with the other products was display. Lovely and bright and colourful, but unfortunately terrible viewing angles and or annoying flashing displays. Viewing angle definitely is an issue with the colour displays used for all the products I tried. Some are better for viewing when they are above your eye level, some are better when they are below your eye levels, none of them are perfect and you have to choose which you need. If you are more than a foot beyond the viewing angle the display fades and you just can’t read it. The Youshiko Wireless Colour Weather Station has a display that you need to to place on or BELOW your eye level. So it’s ideally suited to a sideboard or bedside table. Not suitable for a high position on a bookcase or similar, the display fades very fast once your eyes get below the screen. The display is nice and bright. Not as big as some of the competition. The only comparison I can think of is that the screen area is about the same width and twice the height of the new Smart Meter displays and the numbers are about the same size. It’s readable at the same sort of distances too, so up to about three meters or so you can clearly read all of the information and the larger numbers like temperatures and time you can read at up to about than six meters with a bit of squinting. While being a different size and different viewing angles there is no particular quality difference between the Youshiko and any other product I tried. The measurements seem pretty accurate. Certainly the temperature was accurate to within about 0.1~0.2 degrees C. Everything feels good quality. The instructions are concise and clear. The only thing you have to do is set the current weather conditions, then after that it looks after itself. The remote sensor needs to be positioned outside, but is weather resistant so as long at its out the sun and direct rain you are fine. The weather prediction is of course pretty inaccurate. Setting up the sensor wasn't always easy. I used a half dead set of batteries at first and when they ran out a few days later, it proved quite difficult to get it to connect to the sensor again. I used the search button and so on but in the end had to power the main unit on and off several times to get it to work. One thing the unit really needs is an indicator to show when it hasn't received a signal from the outside sensor in say five minutes. It could really do with that. It’s a nice product. A little expensive, but given the failings of the other products I tried, it's worth it.

After returning two other makes that you required a science degree to set up , ths one is so simple all set up in less than two minutes , No long and complicated programs and instructions that you cannot read or understand . This unit is very clear to read and has two levels of brightness and one no lght , Note the battery is for back up and the unit is best run on the mains , Just plug the unit in press weather scroll the four pictures using the plus or minus buttons and choose the one that looks like the weather outside ALL DONE , The unit sets up the wi fi for the outdoor sensor mine works well at 25 metres , look to see if the signal icon is flashing if not press WAVE mine took 20 minutes to connect to the weather station and register ,time, date weather ,other changes like alarm, far / cent are all easy. Well done Youshikeo, a great piece of kit . Ths morning it was heavy cloud as the morning progress it went to light cloud . Very pleased customer and a genuine appraisal

Nice unit. Pretty accurate and easy to read. Picked up the Radio signal immediately and remains accurate at all times. The weather, when initially set choosing an image from the display,shows the current weather but then predicts the weather a few hours in advance. Only grumble is the left side of the screen stays Black constantly when Blue in the day and Black at night would be infinitely better. Amazon is the cheapest out there for this unit. £45.99..Acctim do the identical station but charge £85.!!

This is a super weather station. It has replaced one that we have had for 10 years. The old one was so difficult to set up. This new one is excellent. Just set up the outdoor sensor and put in batteries for the indoor one and it sets itself up in no time. Marvellous. It has a very clear display, showing the indoor and outdoor temperature. Also the highest and lowest temperatures and the weather forecast for the day. the date and time set up by itself. We like the smart appearance of the machine with its white surround. We would highly recommend this weather station if you want a simple, straightforward machine that is not too complicated. Some of them show too many things making it difficult to read. Not this one, it is just right. It also comes at a good price and excellent service, arriving before the time stated.

Amazon keep clumping reviews together for different items and then not always saying which review applies to which product. This review applies to the Youshiko colour weather station with HD display (see photos). This looks and feels like a top quality product. The display is bright, vibrant and so much better than a normal LCD display. After unpacking, I put batteries in the outdoor sensor, plugged in the main unit and everything but the clock started working straight away. I don't know if its because I live in Norfolk or if its because we have solar panels but I have 3 other radio controlled clocks in the house and they all struggle to get the time signal particularly during the day, however this Youshiko unit did a good job and picked up the signal after a few attempts. I was surprised but pleased to see the clock displaying seconds instead of the day, it seems seconds are the default and it changes to day when the alarm is set. I really like this weather station it is good looking and accurate. Even my children looked at it and said 'wow'!

I am replacing my original review comparing this to my older Oregon Scientific device. This product is appalling. It it completely useless. It got to the point where I had to reset the weather every day and actually tell it what the weather was. A completely useless device. Refund requested. However, as other people have commented it looks quite nice. I plugged my older Oregon Scientific back in and it produced accurate readings within minutes. Cannot recommend.

I've got a couple of weather stations dotted around the house and I've never had any trouble with them reaching radio clocks to keep the time accurate. This unit was to replace an old LCD station I had in my living room but from the outset, it had problems maintaining a connection to the RC. Support said that I 'shouldn't worry' and that so long as it connected now and again then the time would be OK. Maybe so but I've never had a station that took this approach before. Not long after putting it in place, it started to lose connection with the outdoor sensor and wouldn't reconnect. I was using brand new Duracells but I swapped everything out even so and reset everything. RC connection was still sporadic but the connection to the outdoor sensor came back - then dropped out again. If anything, the positioning of the unit and sensor is probably the easiest configuration I have. The sensor is only about 30 feet away from the unit and only has to communicate through a patio door. It's not as if I'm in Finland and the sensor is in a nuclear bunker somewhere so I would expect a reasonable steady link. On the plus side, the display is very nice. Despite being fairly small, the colours stand out nicely on the deep black background. However, due to the hit-and-miss connectivity, this unit will be returned. Disappointing for the price as the cheapo out-going unit has no such problems when it's in situ. Not all progress is forwards I guess.
