I really like this Zosi camera! It has been a life-saver for me. I have an older Swann video surveillance setup (2016 vintage) with 960H (480p) cameras. Recently one of the cameras failed. I contacted Swann and they no longer manufacture or sell these older lower resolution cameras. I wouldn’t mind buying one of their newer 720p or 1080p cameras, but here is the kicker – the new cameras are not compatible with my DVR or the existing cabling! I would have to replace all the cabling and the DVR! The existing cables have been meticulously run through the interior of walls and/or conduit. Replacing the cables would be a massive job. That’s where this Zosi camera comes in. It is 100% compatible with my older DVR as well as my existing cabling. Both the video cable connector and the power cable connector plug right into my existing cables. I merely had to remove the old camera and mount the new Zosi camera. Even the mounting holes are the same! And the Zosi works great! I am now back up and running without any hassles. I should also mention that the Zosi camera looks identical to the old Swann model. Either Zosi made the cameras as a private label item for Swann years ago, or they reverse-engineered the older Swann camera after Swann discontinued offering theirs. Either way, Zosi has filled an important niche by offering these cameras. The Zosi is also a hybrid camera. It is compatible with 4 different types of DVRs. It has a tiny joystick that can be used to program any one of the four different DVR modes. In that regard it goes beyond the capabilities of the old Swann cameras. Zosi has done their homework and they offer a fine camera that is compatible with many different brands.

Have had two of these cameras installed outside in the Nebraska weather for almost two years and they still work great. The picture quality is awesome for the price. The night vision works great and the focus is good enough I can make out makes of cars two blocks away during the day. They have helped nab an estranged exgirlfriend of our neighbor down the block on the opposite side of the road when she slashed her ex-boyfriends truck tires at 2AM.police were able to identify her vehicle and her even though she was about 250-300 feet away with just a single streetlight to illuminate the road foe the entire block. All in all a good quality camera at a reasonable price.

Bought this camera because it was so cheap. I figured if I didn't like it, what the heck,it was only $19!! I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the camera and the video quality. The color is a bit over saturated, but looks good. The night vision is pretty good also. I can see my whole front yard at night and it is 30 by 25 feet. Not bad for under $20 with Prime shipping. I found that good quality coax made a significant improvement in picture quality and clarity. When I installed the camera I used some really cheap coax/power/audio cable that I bought on Amazon with the camera. It was a very thin 100ft cable, about as thin as 12 gauge wire. Not good for video! Picture quality was about what one would expect for a $19 camera, crappy! On a hunch that the coax was to blame, I tried some 75ohm RG6 quad shield coax that the Comcast cable installer left me about a year ago. He told me it was the best for video applications, that's why they use it. It cost me $22 for a 10 pak of the BNC connectors needed for the cable and camera. Already more than the price for the camera, and if I had to buy the cable it would have been probably twice the price paid for the camera. BUT!, the picture quality was much better! I used the original cheapo cable for the power feed only and didn't bother with the audio, but it is there if I need it in the future. So, I spent $19 for the camera and about $30 for the coax/connectors(if I would have had to buy the coax) There are video/power combo coax on Amazon and elsewhere, but be sure to buy the best you can find. If you want the best video quality your camera is capable of you must use quality coax! You could use an amplifier close to the camera, but crappy coax will still degrade the signal. If your coax run is more than about 120 feet, you will still need quality coax and an amplifier! Of course there is the wireless way to go. The same conditions apply to wireless transmitter/receivers, you must use quality components in the system to get a quality video picture. I have a $100 camera I put up about a year ago(with good coax), and now a $19 camera(with good coax) and the difference between the two is very hard to see. I'm happy with this bargain camera and plan on buying 2 more.....

I have had name brand security cameras for years, two of which finally said they'd had enough and drowned themselves. Small cracks developed in the camera case itself where it joins with the mounting base allowing water to do the rest. Now I've only been running this camera for a couple of days but so far I'm impressed enough to get on here and write a review. Our waterfront home presents a challenge for security cameras even during the day due to dramatically different amounts of sunlight. All six of my cameras covering the water side of the property have difficulty when the area they are covering is divided between complete shade and bright sunlight. My name brand cameras completely flare out the bright portion of the picture, you wouldn't see an elephant walk past! Not this little guy and the picture I included tells the story. Please note that nothing was done to this picture besides cropping it to get the manufacturers name out of it. With my other cameras the sunlit portion of this picture would have flared out so badly you would have had a hard time even seeing the windows let alone the furniture. And if you look closely in the corner by the sliding glass door you'll see the motion detecting LED flood lights. They are very bright and would really cause problems for my old camera. When those LEDs came on at night that camera's picture would flare out so badly that I couldn't tell you if my Golden Retriever was at the sliding door. I tested this several times last night and this Zosi camera was great. When the LED floods came on the Zosi gave me a great, no flares picture. Forget the dog, now I'll be able to check the recording and finally find out which cat keeps leaving dead little presents in front of that door for me. This camera is mounted on top of a deck railing, completely exposed to the eliminates. It shouldn't take long to find out find out how well it's constructed. Would I recommend this camera to a friend? Not yet, I'll give it a few months, but if the image quality remains as is, then yes I would. But, in the meantime I'm getting two more of these to replace a couple other name brand cameras I'm not happy with anymore. Keep in mind that the 3.66mm lens doesn't provide a huge field of view so if you're trying to cover a large area with a single camera this may not be the camera for you. Also, because the deck has accent lighting at night I can't give you an honest opinion on the infrared capabilities. Although I certainly didn't notice any difference from the camera it replaced. PS: If you have an area that your cameras Ir doesn't provide enough light you might consider just adding an Ir emitter. They are inexpensive and can provide a lot of light in areas you currently can't see at night. Search Amazon for "CCTV ir illuminator".

So far I have not been able to find the adaptor needed to conect the camera and see if it even works. So its 3's cause I'm a decent kind of guy. A little more info from the start would have been nice. I picked out the camera iI thought was good quality, [good thing the wife talked me out of buying the 4 camera system I wanted or I would be pissed rght now!] So I followed the prompts, other buyers usually... and got the power supply, [it wll run 4 cameras cause that's what i wanted], and the next prompt said buy wire. That made sense, so I bought 100 ft of wite and thought I was good to go. Power suppl shows, next day camera shows up. Packaging was ok, box in a bag, and I hate to admit it bit I was getting excited. By Sunday the wire showed up. I was out, but when i got home i scampered out back and connected to the camera, in the dark, [I mounted it the day it arried, told you I was getting excited !]. I connected, no problem, routed it quick and temporary, to my office in the basement. That is when I found there was a weird connector on the cable. I found that it would not hook up to my computer or my smart tv. I call my buddy he says yup, i found tha out the hard way to. You need a blm to usb adaptor they run abot $70 bucks. Are ou kiding me? Thats twice what i paid for this test set up. I think that the seller coukld make note somewhere in the add that there will be a need to adapt the in feed to what ever you intend to connect to. Smart guys like them should be able to list which one you need to connect to what you intend to view. There seems to be about 10 -15 diferent versions and it looks like i might need connect a few together. Amazon could have helped out as well. One more other buyers usually buy ...that informed you about the adaptors and links that take you too them might earn praise and a couple extra bucks. Time to update. I have to give credit where it is due. This camera is FANTASTIC! I cannot get over the clarity of the video i recieve. I am espically impressed wthe the night vision. I sctually had to go look and make sure the light's were off. It was that clear and bright. Beautiful, clear, and just like day time. All things considered, worth the hassel. Im so pleased, i have ordered another camera and am even more excited. Thanks for meeting the description and making such a brilliant product at such a reasonable price.

I bought this to go on an "olde" 720x480 Security DVR. I tried it because of the reviews and as it was under $20. Wow... I'm glad I took the chance. Now I know I could replace my WHOLE setup for $1,500 or thereabouts but honestly, I don't need the detail of 1080p... 480p is just fine and has worked perfect for me for a long time. This camera is designed to be WS (widescreen). My old cameras are FS (fullscreen). HOWEVER... my system now has large screen 1K and 4K TV's and the FS cameras are stretched width wise. The display with this new camera is actually perfect for the large widescreen TV's/monitors. Another thing, the image quality is excellent. I tested this in zero light, low light, internal light, day light and the results were better than the older cameras. The lens on this camera is closer to Wide than Zoom so it fits my needs perfect. Connecting it up was a breeze/easy. In fact I didn't hard wire it, I paired it with a video 2.4GHz transmitter/receiver I had laying around and I was able to fit it in a position that hard wire cabling would have been a hassle to install. I may buy another couple of these as spares as I noticed that some of my old cameras are showing signs of a CCD burnout. I had previously bought cameras from a major DVR supplier that were almost twice the cost and I can say, performance wise, these provide images as good as if not better than those others. I can't comment on longevity or durability at this time, only time will tell if they hold up but I'll definitely add an update if there are any issues. For now, very pleased with my chance purchase and for those with older DVR security systems, these are compatible with both of mine (different manufacturers). There is an install manual which looks comprehensive but to be honest, I never referred to it as there was no need.

I have a Zosi H264 hd 720P DVR I bought approx 5 years ago with 8 cams.. works great.. but only black and white at night.. So I bought 1 of these color night vision cams to hook up and see how I liked it.. After hooking it up I waited until dusk and watched it on my tv.. it came on in color and loved it.. so bought 5 more cams and hooked them up.. I waited until dusk again and they all came on in color.. Perfect.. but then as it got darker out they all went to to black and white like my old cams that are only black and white at night... Am I doing something wrong?? Appreciate any feedback before I send them back.. Thanks
