Privateer Press Warmachine: Khador Widowmaker Unit Box Model Kit

A common failing of the more humanoid sets of figures is that they tend to be quite small. This box does have a lot of figures, but they are pretty tiny, nad I found that even with a magnifying glass and good intentions, the tiny details are just near invisible when you look at the figure from more than a foot away. I like the quality of the product, but be prepareed to go half-bling painting eyeballs and the holes inthe gun barrels just to have everyone shrug and go "they're pretty okay, I guess." Not my favorites, but oh well.Just for the sake of heading off arguments that this 4 star review is subjective and doesn't reflect the product, but rather my opinion of the design. . . . that is correct. I like the figures I buy to be sized in a way that permits detailed painting that will be appreciated when the figure is viewed. The size of detail in the figures should be such that it accents the figure's look at a reasonable distance. The small attachment points for some of the figures (as a result of the small size) and the overall impression of the figures design and quality informs my review, which isn't that bad after all.

The Khador Forces receive a great ranged unit of 4 "white metal" widowmaker units. Boasting an amazing 14" range attack these guys can move into line of sight of a group of infantry picking them off one by one, or on a successful hit on a warjack or warbeast activating their "snipe" ability to target a column of their choosing and apply a single point of damage to knockout a targeted system.The unit should really be used in cover a respectable 14 defense gets elevated to a +2 from terrain cover and another +2 from camouflage active ability making them very hard to hit.This unit was the first unit I purchased to boost my Khador army past the starter set and it is an amazingly effective and cheap to field support unit

Very nice looking miniatures. I was expecting the barrels to be bent because normally that's what happens whenever I but any mini that features a gun, but in this case all the figures were almost perfectly straight. They have the heft you'd expect from metal minis. Very little flash needed removing. Also needed to trim down the sides of the metal bottom that fits into the plastic base. They painted up very nicely.

very durable pieces, since they are made out of metal. However sometimes some of the gun barrels appear to be bent, but it is very easy to bend them back straight with enough pressure; something that is common with many metal made models, even with plastic ones too, so don't worry too much about it.great sniper unit for beginners into warmachine for khador, since they don't get light jacks, you might as well take as much long range support you can get. Right off the bat, this goes well with the Khador starter set. Just remember you can only field one of these at time. (if I remember correctly)

Widowmaker unit arrived in a timely manner and in excellent condition. would not hesitate ordering other products again! can't wait to get them painted and on the game table!
