Reviewing the three cleanest sunscreens I could find!
I tested three mineral sunscreens this spring for my family โ All Good Baby & Kids Mineral Sunscreen Butter Stick SPF 50 (kids version), Bade Natural Kids Mineral Sunscreen SPF 50+, and Earth Mama Baby Mineral Sunscreen Lotion SPF 40. Here's how they stacked up. All Good Baby & Kids Mineral Sunscreen Butter Stick SPF 50 (kids version) Big win on application โ my kids never once complained about putting it on, which is basically a miracle. The twist tube is easy to use. Downsides: softens a lot in warm weather, felt greasy and seemed to wipe off rather than absorb, and my kids still burned after a couple hours with reapplication โ it may perform better in situations without swimming or sweating. A single tube lasted only 6 days for two kids applying twice daily to whole body. At ~$6/oz it's the priciest of the three, but the kid-friendly application keeps it in consideration. Bade Natural Kids Mineral Sunscreen SPF 50+ Applied well, not greasy, and the white cast is minimal โ left me looking slightly powdery but nothing major. My preferred pick for myself and still using it. One annoying issue: the pump stopped working halfway through the bottle and I had to open it to continue to get the product out. At ~$5/oz it's reasonably priced for a clean option. Earth Mama Baby Mineral Sunscreen Lotion SPF 40 Pretty standard natural sunscreen โ slight white cast, not greasy. The oils separated in the heat though, which the other two didn't have that issue. Squeeze bottle is fine. Nothing bad, nothing that stands out either. Also ~$5/oz. None of the three were standouts with each option having their pluses and minuses, but given how limited truly clean sunscreen options are, I'm sticking with these brands.

I love this brand for my baby. It's a slightly thick sunscreen and leaves a white residue, but that doesn't bother me because I know it's made with good ingredients to take care of my baby's health. I used it to take my baby to the beach, and it's guaranteed.

Great protection but leaves some white residue
I've been using this sunscreen on my 18-month-old for beach trips and daily playground time. Overall very happy with the protection and natural ingredients, but there are a couple things to know before buying. **The good:** - Excellent sun protection - no burns even during long beach days - Goes on smoothly, not too thick or greasy - Natural ingredients give me peace of mind for baby's sensitive skin - Water resistant as advertised - stays put through splashing and sweating - No harsh chemical smell like some sunscreens **The not-so-good:** - Definitely leaves a white cast, especially on darker skin tones - Takes some rubbing to blend in completely - A bit pricey compared to regular sunscreens - Tube is smaller than expected for the price **Application tips:** I've found it works best if you take time to really rub it in. Don't rush the application or you'll end up with white streaks. Also works better on slightly damp skin. My pediatrician specifically recommended mineral sunscreens with zinc oxide for babies, and this one checks all the boxes for safe ingredients. The white residue is typical for zinc-based sunscreens, so it's not really a defect - just something to expect. **Bottom line:** Would definitely repurchase despite the white cast issue. The protection and clean ingredients are worth it for my little one's delicate skin. Just budget extra time for application.

Doesn't work in the Colorado sun
Not good. Doesn't work well at high altitude in the Colorado sun. We are at 8600 ft in elevation, pretty close to the sun and it can be brutal. We like to take walks around the neighborhood in a carrier 15 minutes to an hour. Today I thoroughly and generously spread sunscreen on my girl's face. It was so hard to squeeze out of the container and really thick, but I kept an open mind as I like the company. The sunscreen gave her a bit of a ghost face, but it's not a big deal as we're just going around the neighborhood for a walk. All a big whatever, I've tried a lot of mineral sunscreens on myself and most give at least a white tint. What killed me is after a 30 minute walk my baby girl was sunburned. Very disappointing, I would not recommend this for high altitude states.
