Wall Barometer Traditional Wooden Plaque Barometer made by Woodford with Gift Booklet

A little bit smaller than expected, should have checked measurement. Also no booklet with it. Condition okay.

It wast quiet as I expected it to be, maybe I was expecting it to be in line with an old fashioned barometer, heavy wood with a robust body. All the bits are great and it looks smart but if you hold it in your hand its a bit .... light !

It looks good,and it appears to do what it says on the tin.Not sure where it was made,but the brief instruction sheet seems to suggest a place of foreign origin.

My brother loves to know what's going on with the weather. He'd rather spend hours trying to work it out for himself than watch the estimates on TV. This is why I decided to buy him this wooden barometer for his last birthday. I had actually bought one for a friend previously who loved it so decided to go ahead and purchase my brother the same one. This wall barometer is described as traditional English and I have to say this is right. It actually reminds me of some of the barometers I've seen in the odd period drama so traditional is a great word to sum this up.Before giving it to my brother I inspected it (I always do when I buy items online) and I have to say from my point of view it looked well made and really stylish. The wood surrounding the barometer itself is said to be genuine veneer and I believe it. The product overall looks really sophisticated too.Needless to say I wrapped this up and gave it to my brother for his birthday. He was more than impressed and I'm sure I bought him the ideal birthday present. He hung this wall barometer up in his front room and now taps it every day to see what the weather is going to be like. I don't really understand how it works but my brother is thrilled so it must do what it says. It's nice to see him actually take an interest in something.I don't really have anything bad to say about this wooden barometer. Whilst I'm not that clued up about measuring the weather, air pressure or anything like that, I do know a good product when I see one, and I honestly believe you'll struggle to find anything as well made as this online. Do I recommend it? Very highly so! Especially if you will get as much enjoyment out of it as my brother has. I will probably buy another for another friend in the near future.
