I want to use this for birthday gift cards, us the opening at the neck sufficent?

Hello, you cannot attach anything to it. The finished areas on the neck and everywhere else for that matter, connect smoothly and nicely with each other. There is no place where you could insert cards for display, if that's what you mean. The opening area lengthwise from shoulder to shoulder is about 13 inches and from the neck area to the lowest point on the V part of the breast area is 6 inches. This is a beautiful piece; mainly for decoration purposes. I hope this helps.

How do you think plus sized clothes would look on this mannequin?

Not very good. The mannequin is very small and, to be honest, it's a nice looking mannequin, but the proportions are not quite right. The shoulders are very narrow, so blouses and sweaters have a weird bump in that area. Also, the waist is really really small.. Any skirts you put on there will usually fall off if you don't clip them on. (Even a size 10 skirt fell down to the middle of the hip area) Any plus sized waist items will fall right off. All that said, if you are trying to put plus sized stuff on there you could clip or pin to make it look right. Hope that helps.
