FAIRY TRENDZ Mens Padded Country Wax Heavy Weather Hunting Fishing Walking Jacket

I don’t normally write reviews. But the quality and value for money of this jacket is outstanding, which prompted me to write. For over 40 years I have worn Barbour waxed jackets and loved them. But to replace my last one would have been over £300. So I decided to buy this jacket instead from Amazon, for a tenth of this price. I have to say that the quality and feel of the jacket is very similar, and it is well made and well lined. It is knee length to me and has ample pockets. I wore it today taking my Labrador over the South Downs in the gale force winds. I was delighted with it and would endorse the fact that the jacket is heavy duty. As described in other reviews it is on the larger side, but gives scope for plenty of extra layers, which I need at my age! I would highly recommend it.

I’ve just started using this coat, so time will tell how well it stands up, but my initial feedback is positive. It appears well made and fit is true to size for me (XXL). The hood is a little small and it would be nice to have press studs on the pockets. But hey, for the price this is exceptional value. It is very warm and padded, so it’s really a winter coat. You won’t need many layers underneath to keep warm. How it performs in the rain, I don’t know yet, but I don’t expect issues as it’s well waxed and should protect against water ingress. Overall very pleased so far. I’ve now used the coat quite a lot in heavy rain. The waxing soon wears off and it doesn’t leak water. I’ve rewaxed it a couple of times now. If you want a coat that is extremely waterproof this may not be the one. Otherwise as I said it’s excellent value.

The garment is well made and just as described. The real test will come when it rains heavily and the coat shows it is effectively waterproof. The other issue experienced with this type of jacket is the Zip. The durability of zips is essential simply because it is so difficult to find someone able to remove and re fit a zip. My final comment concerns the hood - I hate wearing hoods and this hood is no different - it is too small and the draw strings are in danger of being a choking hazard.

This is my best purchase from Amazon by a long way in the cold wild country of Bonnie Scotland out in the fields through wind rain and snow this jacket does the job like no other. Great value for money really happy if you need just one jacket this is the one

Great coat but although not worn very often, there must be a flaw in the production/material as both arms have split. This coat is not a tight fit but lose and comfy so I’m not sure why this had happened.

This is a fantastic coat, warm and waterproof. The size I ordered was a perfect fit. I would highly recommend this product
