... strong clamp or a screw because it is so sturdy and rigid
Securing this to some nozzles requires a very strong clamp or a screw because it is so sturdy and rigid. I gave it a five-star rating, though, because it is quite sturdy and there was no representation about methods of securing it to a nozzle, so the vendor cannot be blamed for that inconvenience; it can be dealt with.

Tight fitment
It was perfect for my DIY fume extractor project

More a Milky Transulucent than clear...
I have no qualms about the quality of this hose: it has a fairly heavy construction, stays the way you form it, and should last a good while longer. However, I think the description is a bit deceptive as its not truly clear, but translucent, similar to a plastic milk jug. Light can pass through, but you only get greatly blurred shapes when looking through. Even with that, if you needed to spot a clog, you likely would see where it is in this hose.

very well made but already developed a hole; fault is probably my off-label application
I bought this to attach to my portable corded Toro leaf vacuum/blower.Reviewers' comments about Toro's own hose bagging gizmo were bleak, so I used this to design my own setup to blow shredded leaves into a trash can with my own design of a filter bag on top of the trash can. I think one problem was that I was also vacuuming small gravel and sticks, not simply dry leaves.I think this hose would do just fine for shop sawdust collection, as designed and marketed. This 3" diameter works very well with the amount of wind from my leaf vacuum, so the pneumatic aspect is good with my design. so there's that.I had to force fit the round hose onto a rectangular blower exhaust opening, so that may have caused some weakness where the hole developed. I will eventually improve my design, probably by fabricating my own sheet metal adapter, rectangular to round. The other end is attached to a round plastic adapter designed for use with this kind of hose, and with a hose clamp, as one might expect, and that end has no problem. At first, the hose wanted to retract back to its shrunken short length (like a Slinky), but with use, heat of the day, and constant extending during use, it easily stretched to its full 10' working length. Now it no longer wants to retract, which is not a problem. The wire is covered in thick black plastic. The hose itself is a milky white plastic, fairly thick. It is translucent so I can barely see when it gets clogged with leaves. Clogs only happen at the ends. On the far end, clogs occur where the hose hangs down with a sharp right angle bend. Not the fault of the hose. I should maybe put a 3" elbow there, but then I would not be able to see the clog. I do not think it would clog if I vacuumed only leaves; the clogs were full of partially ground tree twigs from a hail storm.Recommended good quality for sawdust collection.

Good material - not good for dust collection.
Ultimately I think I'm going to have to get something else. I had high hopes for this hose but will find another use. I originally bought it to connect my band saw, belt sander and drill press to my dust collection system but this hose is very very ridgid. It does NOT want to stay extended and in place. I had to have one of the kids hold it in place while I put a hose clamp around it... which crushed part of a rib on the hose and made it to where air was drawn in through this tiny little hole. Imagine my panic as I switched on the dust collector and heard this high pitched omnious wistling! Haha it was quite a laugh... AFTER I figured out what it was. ;)

Good product
For its intended purpose, it worked well. The material is adequate for the job, very flexible. The coil is made out of plastic, not metal, but it looks durable, and it was easy to cut to length. You won't have to worry about rust ever. Overall, recommended.

Sadly, a waste of $50 bucks...
Initially, If I was inclined to give a review I would have given this a 4 star rating. I liked the expandable option of this hose, and the smooth inside. Very flexible and did what I needed. A bit difficult to get over some connections, but I managed. However, fast forward a couple years and this is where I'm at and felt I needed to write this review. For the sections of hose I used as static connections, no problems. For the sections of hose I used for temp connections, this is a complete crap product. I had used about 15' of this as a dual purpose port. I mostly used this to drag around a part of my shop to clean the floor, and when needed this would connect to a 13" planer. So for a few years now this hose has apparently taken a beating it could not take. The hose wore down pretty bad and got real weak in the flex joints. It's to the point now, I can't extend the hose without it tearing. This will finally be thrown in the garbage this weekend because I'm just tired of thinking it will hold up for another day.I would have to say the large chips from the planer is what did this hose in, but I question how well it would have held up regardless by stretching this hose over the course of another year?? Hard to say, but I will need to find another option.
