TimexMen's The Guard DGTL 47 mm Resin Strap Combo Watch

This was a replacement for an old casio g-shock which was a fine watch, but difficult to read the display including the analog hands. I can't remember ever owning a timex - it's always been casio since my school days with one of those square LCD things they still sell to this day. With a price around £20 less than the g-shock, it had to be worth a punt.First things first - no instructions included. Was this something for the foreign market repackaged for us? Who knows, as luck would have it, I already downloaded them in pdf form from the timex website, to confirm it had a countdown timer (which it does).For the benefit of those who don't, this watch has a cool battery saving feature in that the analog hands have to be set manually by pulling out the crown at the side, much like an old analog watch. Which means when you first unbox it, the hands including the seconds hand are static. By pulling out a small plastic stopper, adjusting the hands for the correct time, and then pushing the crown back in, gets the analog hands and seconds hand moving.As for the digital time, you probably know the drill: hold the 'set' button (top left) for a few seconds, wait for the seconds hand to pass zero then press the 'st/stp' button (top right) to reset seconds to zero. Press 'mode' button (bottom left) to set the minutes with 'st/stp' advancing minutes to correct time, then 'mode' again for the hours,then finally 'mode' again to set date and day of the week, which is read on a little dial display moving anti-clockwise from Sunday through to Friday. You've also got the option of 24hr or 12hr mode for the display. Once time is set, you can hold down 'st/stp' to give you date in month and day format (American style as ever).'Mode' gives you the other functions - stopwatch, timer (which you set in same way as time for minutes, hours and seconds you want), 3 alarms which can be set daily or weekly including an hourly chime. There's no useless gimmicks such as 'world time' - who gives a stuff what the time is in New York or Tokyo, but there's a dual time option T2, in which you can set for any time you want.Besides having a clear, uncluttered and easy to read analog and digital display, the final cool feature is the night light (bottom right button) which lights the digital display up for a few secons in a lovely luminous green (see pic). No crappy 1970s amber light tech from Timex here.So, yeah, overall, very happy with my new Timex watch. It's a cut above it's main competitor, the casio G-Shock, and if you can find it at a lower price, so much the better.

The Watch looks great , but came without the manual .would have helped if you have complete instruction list .

For the price this is a good watch. Timex are always good quality and this is no exception. It looks great on and gets lots of attention. It is not in the league of G-Shocks as I don't think it would withstand the beating that they can. From a short distance it looks like a very expensive watch but up close you can see it's all plastic. But I like it and it has all the required functions and I know it will last forever if looked after

Its nice but glass face scratched very easy jnlike G shock casios and cllor is fading do i wont be buying anothrr one of these watches

Sonne Uhr bekommt man auch DEUTLICH billiger.In den Neunzigern hatte ich ne Timex mit Saphirglas, Hintetgrundbeleuchteten Analogen Ziffernblatt, automatischen ewigem Kalender, Wochentagsanzeige,Lederband, und einem Design auf das man mich ansprach.Sowas gibts bei Timex heut nicht mehr.SCHADE.
