These are unscented, so kind of (to me) smell of older buildings, it's quite nostalgic for me as it reminds me of visiting old places whilst on holiday.Yes, they seem to have shrunk since theyve been packed - this is a natuaral product without all those preservatives and all that's been lost is water content (which doesn't exactly make any difference as you'll be adding water to use the product, and need less product to get the same effect).You actually get a lot of soap despite the minimal shrinkage so I've cut each block into four to make them more hand friendly for us as they're quite bulky otherwise. I guess the size is ideal for general household cleaning? The lather is quite silky and doesn't seem to dry my skin out like most soaps, but doesn't leave a greasy 'mousturising' film either. I actually originally bought these to wash my hair with to try and reduce plastic waste, but as it's gentle on my skin I've replaced my cleanser and shaving foam with it too. Also use the one by the bath to put on a cloth to clean the bath and sink with immediately after getting out the bath, so saving on bottles of bathroom cleaner too. Not ideal that the soaps come wrapped in plastic, but the amount is tiny compared to the bottles of shampoo and cleanser it's replaced. Perhaps the plastic can be replaced with paper?
