It was very easy to install and it really worked out great

These came packaged nice and looked like quality parts, I had to return them due to not being the fit for my vehicle.

Installation instructions can be a little confusing and vague. But if mechanically inclined its pretty easy to figure out. The only down fall is you have to make sure you unbolt the bottom brackets from the axle before your truck goes on a lift otherwise you will rip the air bags apart. Not a huge deal but if you forget to mention this before the truck goes in for service where lifting the truck in the air is necessary, Damage to the air bags WILL occur.

Hauling firewood and it does a great job.

I am a general contractor and I have a '97 GMC sierra 4x4 and tow a 6'x12' enclosed trailer loaded with tools and the truck has a heavy ladder rack with ladders and lumber constantly. I have hauled full pallets of concrete and many heavy trips to the dump and these air bags have preformed flawlessly! They consistently hold pressure, no leaks no problems what so ever! The truck actually handles better than before I installed the air bags! Highly recommend.

Let me start off by saying up front, "I've installed several dozen air helper spring kits over the years, some Firestone, some other brands. Firestone by in large makes a Great kit, save this particular one. First off, they must have had a very rudimentary knowledge of this particular truck. The axle bag mounting plates will require the installer to either weld them in place, or grind extensively the secondary spring pad, a factory item, to make the axle clamp bolts begin to line up and be used. Second, this IS a drilling required kit, there is at least one other brand kit on the market that IS "No Drilling" required to install. Not a huge deal but still, if the other guy(s) are doing it, why can't Firestone. Third, and probably the owners new biggest headache, the very reason you are putting this kit on your truck is what you in normal everyday driving, enjoy about the truck. Those really long leaf springs that make the ride so nice in these trucks, also are what make it drop so badly when you load it on the heavy side, so you buy the kit. Once you have the kit installed on your truck keep this single fact in the front of your mind. You can NEVER have your truck raised on a hoist BY THE FRAME AGAIN. Those long beautiful springs will allow the axle to drop SO far that your bags will be torn to shreds. AXLE RAISING ONLY, unless, as I did with my truck, and you can get these at any good 4 X 4 shop, AXLE EXTENSION RESTRAINTS. They stop the axle from dropping down by physically holding it up. Good ones will run you $45 or so and some time to drill and mount them. They also provide a secondary benefit, they keep your shocks from being the restraint they normally would be thereby extending the shock life so bonus.Bottom line, IF you are automotive handy, this kit WILL do what you want it to, you WILL have to deal with modifications to mount it, you WILL have to deal with the extension issue, BUT, they WILL add the load capacity you are looking for.
