Hello ... it says on the packet that the bristles are 'natural' .... and I don't know specifically what sort of hair. Sorry I can't help ... maybe Crayola can. Regards, Sarah/

I bought these for our Grand Daughter for her art work. I think if I wanted paint brushes for food colouring and decoration then I would buy a set specifically marketed for that purpose. I am sorry that I cannot be of further help.

does this set have a size 8 brush?
