I bought this just to practice hair styles I want to try on myself. This is only a leisure activity for me and I didn't want to spend to much, so the price point is the first thing that attract me. I also like the fact that it comes with an adjustable stand that I can attach to my table for stability. When it arrived the hair was matted and it did have a chemical/ plastic odor (as some people mentioned in their reviews). I washed to head with shampoo and conditioned it immediately; that resolved the smell. Once washed (and air dried) the hair is soft and wavy. There was some shedding during the wash and detangling process but to be fair I have never used on of these mannequin heads before so I'm not sure if the shedding was normal or a lot. I would recommend.

Great for practicing to braid hair.

The hair has a very realistic feel. The only setback is that is does shed very easily and a lot. I would just be careful with how you are handling the head so you don't pull as much out.

My daughter loves this mannequin head. The hair is very thick. This is by far the closest to real african american hair I think you will get. Not much shedding that I can see from when my daughter plays with it. Great value for the money.

Initially, when I opened the package and remove my doll head,the hair had a very pungent chemical odor (to my understanding is normal with doll heads that have been sanitized and disinfected). I also noticed slight shedding which concerned me, however, after washing my doll head the pungent odor disappated completely. I was able to flat iron the hair on high heat. Btw, I am a licensed cosmetologist. This is everything I wanted.

This mannequin is great quality, minimal shedding, good amount of hair and realistic feeling. I have practiced braiding on it and after a careful wash and conditioning the hair is really soft. Im sure it will also work well for other things like heat styling and roller sets. Edit: with every wash the hair stretched and lost most of the curls. By now it only has slight waves left. Except of that it still is a good mannequin.

Really a great product. I used it to practice techniques and just to have fun with it as I have transitioned my relaxed hair to natural so it's been so helpful with figuring out new styles. Only thing I don't like is I'm not sure how to get it standing on its own, am I suppose to buy a separate attachment for it to stand up? Hopefully not as that just might be too bulky.

Full hair, great length but the texture is not very soft feels abit hard.
