I drilled about 1000 holes and it’s finally getting dole

As other reviewers mention the milling on the blades is not the greatest. About half the blades in my set have one or two very tiny nicks on one side of the main blade. Nothing as big as one reviewer pictured; almost imperceptible.The nicks are all in the same place regardless of the blade size which leads me to think it may be a piece of handling machinery that bumps that spot on the blade and creates a tiny nick.I have used 3 of the bits so far and they all cut beautiful holes with perfectly flat bottoms so I can't see where the nicks are having an adverse affect at this point. They certainly don't need to be sharpened before use. I think if someone is expecting perfect bits, they need to spend $200 - 300. For me, I don't use these everyday so this was a good deal.Having said that, Yonico should look at correcting this defect as it would probably not be that difficult or costly.

Amazon asked me to review this Forstner bit. To be honest, I have only drilled ONE hole with it. My set of large Forstner Bits goes from 1.5 directly to 2.0 inches, and I needed a 1.75 hole to make a fixture. This bit did the job. The bit is sharp and solid. The hole was straight with clean sides. It worked perfectly. I can't say what would happen after 100 holes or 500 holes. Another good thing: I ordered this on Wednesday night, and I had it in hand on Thursday afternoon. Good Job Amazon.

It does the job very well in pine and lighter woods but once you get to a harder wood it needs a little bit of finessing to get a clean and consistent hole.

It's a little hard to keep in place when you first start drilling. But after that it works great.

Not a review of this particular bit. Just had to say Precision Bits has always had fast shipping since I bought a router bit from them years ago. I have several sizes of these forstner bits and I am very happy with them. Also Precision Bits has great customer service!

While I expected the shank to spin, it didn’t and was sharp enough to do the job I wanted.

I bought this to be able to fit the shaker pegs also bought here on Amazon. Really hard to get 1/2" forstner bits in Europe, this makes this reasonable bit rather expensive. 7 euro shipping and 6,50 euro customs tariff, while very good Bosch Professional bits can be had for around 12 euros. So yeah, it's a fine bit, just expensive because of shipping and customs fees.
