Ard Bia Cookbook Hardcover – January 8, 2013

We bought this after visiting Galway, Ireland and having two beautiful lunches with our daughter at Ard Bia. How exciting to try making the Celeriac Soup and the Brown Soda Bread. The recipes are mostly in metric. Ingredients are clean, simple and delightful, which pretty much is Ireland in a nutshell. This book will harken you into a warm, kitchen mood, and if you're ever in Galway, be certain to put this little cafe on your list. We ordered the cook book from Amazon when we got home, as it's a hefty one to be packing on a journey. We were completely taken away with Irish food, their pristine cream and butter and the friendliness of every person we met. With the river just outside the window and the warm, wooden floors, it felt like we were on an Irish ship with the best food we could imagine. Galway is a 2.5 hour train ride through the green Irish countryside from Dublin. Thank you, Ard Bia!

wonderful restaurant in Galway, Ireland. recipes are interestng, earthy and elegant, as is the layout of this cookbook itself, Plenty of vegan and vegetarian options.

The book is great but it looked more beat-up than I expected from the ad. Still, the recipes work! Try my fave, the soda bread.

We went to Ard Bia in Galway at the recommendation of a foodie friend who had lived there several years. The restaurantt became our favorite restaurant in Galway and we dined there several times. The quality and creativity is wonderful. I enjoy creating recipes out of the cookbook to enjoy excellent Irish food. The Seafood Chowder and Brown Soda Bread is excellent.

Beautiful cookbook. I have spent a lot of time flipping through the pages and believe it is very clear and thoughtful. I am very selective about the cookbooks I purchase, and this is one of about 5 that I have thought worthy to buy in the last few years.

Equally beautiful prose and recipes.

Gorgeously put together. I had the joy of dining in this restaurant and this book is the perfect little gift to myself to preserve the memory.

While I like this book with all the hype surrounding it I think I was expecting more from it
