I bought these as a last-minute extra gift for my spouse. Previously, I had bought him these really cool D & D shaped dice ones. They seem like just as good quality for much less price. And, the packaging is absolutely beautiful. It looked like I spent a lot more money than I did. I definitely am going to be buying them for other family members or friends in the future.

First let me say I didnt actually use it. So I can't comment on if it alters the taste of the whiskey. I bought it as a gift. The person who received it is a whiskey lover and was quite intrigued and excited. I like the box and thongs it came with- was sturdy and cute for a $14 gift!

I got this as a gift for my brother, reasoning that if he didn't like it I could try heating the stones in the sun, put them in a camping skillet and see how long they would warm a sleeping bag (since soapstone is used in wood stoves and solar heaters due to its heat capacity)!But he was very pleased with the presentation box and kept them. I'll have to get some more for my inner mad scientist!

Product has a beautiful tone to the wood as shown in photo. Takes wood polish very well and line work will fit the standards of those with an eye for congruent woodworking
