It’s the model 24, which is different than 2400
Great product I just thought I was buying the 2400

Glad the EQs can be adjusted as knobs, and not just in a computer menu!
This is a great sounding mixer and recorder, useful for studio recording and live sound. 16 mic input channels are really fantastic! The mix can be heard on the output channels, fully EQd, while all channels can be recorded without being affected by the EQ or fader position. Perfect for well mixed and EQd live sound and at the same time, recording of a direct signal that can be EQd and mixed later in your favorite mixing software. The only small drawback is that phantom power is applied to all channels simultaneously, so if you have vintage ribbon mics that might be damaged by phantom power, you may not want to plug them into the phantom power carrying inputs; you need to put a phantom power blocker in between the mic and the input.

Excellent analog mixer with digital recording
Love the feel of a mixing desk! Getting around and getting to know it was fairly easy. Sound is excellent as well as use with my Mac and getting tracks to and fro. This is a great way to get away from your DAW! My first 4-track was a cassette 4-track in 1987. Using this Tascam gave me “that feeling again” as weird or cool as that may sound. So far, I’ve had no issues with use or function.

Good and bad
The product is good, however mine arrived with 3 power cables that are not for use in the USA. I contacted them and they said they only deliver the correct power cables. I told them I got the wrong ones and they said that doesn’t happen. So their support was very bad. I have several Tuscan mixers and am very disappointed in the customer service What I love is I can record 24 separate tracks. My previous Tuscan I could do 8 at a time and lots of cable swapping. I do not have to swap cables anymore I have lines for 4 vocals 2 guitars a bass 2 for drums 4 keyboards verious other inputs like a drum pad an evolve synth

This thing is awesome..
I'm beyond stoked and completely satisfied with my purchase, This Tasscam 24 is amazing, with the built-in audio interface, compressor, preamps, and equalizers you're basically buying three or four different pieces of equipment in one. I was blown away by the analog sound quality when I ran my guitar and vocals through channels one and two for the first time. The one knob compressor sounds amazing, you just dial it into your taste, the equalizers with sweeping mid-band range is awesome. I have no doubt my band and I are going to be able to produce a studio quality sounding album off of this board.

Does not have a DAW control. Other then that works great.

Great piece of gear
I love this thing. Preamps and EQ sounds great. The onboard effects are pretty decent. However, this thing could benefit from having an onboard metronome. Not a huge deal since you can use this as an interface with your DAW of choice. But for people like me who use this as a stand-alone recorder, a metronome would be awesome. Overall, I would recommend this to anyone from the semi-pro engineer to the bedroom artist. Happy recording!

This thing is pretty nice
DAWs take too much time. I can run drums guitars, bass and vocal into this and get a very good recording, tweak all the levels on board and even add minimal effect just like and old analog mixer. But if I want, I can take the raw recordings and edit them in a DAW, so this gives the best of both worlds. I use this as my PA mixer as well run out to a power amp. I really like this thing, it's an all in one solution for the home studio. It has 16 xlr inputs, I could always use more, but it's definitely enough to record an entire band, depending how crazy you get with the drum mics. Only issue is the instructions are pretty weak, but there are plenty of good videos on YouTube to explain how to use all the functions.

This is a great recording device for an analog guy, it is much easier to use the tascam than any computer recording system for me, and it is very clean if you get your gain levels right. I have researched this unit for a while and read complaints about it too, it is exactly what I needed and had no problems getting SD cards to work in this unit. The instruction manual was fairly straight forward, and I am getting familiar with the unit, but it does take some patience. Thanks to Amazon Warehouse I was able to afford this 24 channel recorder to catalogue and record my songs. thank you tascam for a great design, and Amazon for the deal.

Ordered my model 24 on a saturday and received it on Monday. WOW, and the unit was perfect condition. I uploaded to the current 1.61 firmware with no issue after loading and formatting the SD card NOT included. Had No issue loading the driver and software. My unit was recognized immediately by reaper and my pc. Changed the PC master channel to channel 21/22 as the Tascam automatically selects channel 1 on the mixer by default. Still uses channel 1 for playback of computer sounds when not using the daw. Keep in mind, you have to change your thinking process when moving to this unit, the mixer is no longer on your computer screen. If you arent getting sound, you have to click the main, or turn up the control room pot etc. If Spl or Fpl is pressed, you wont hear anything from the control room. I use Windows 7/64, its rock solid and NO issues at all. I use Sub out left and right to run headphone monitors to my drum room and use the single headphone out for my phones on the control room. Get it, and DONT look back. :-)

Works great! Live recording and on the computer, was easy to setup and use, I like how easy is to export the tracks to the PC. This mixer is not a full porta studio but if you know what are you doing you can get anything done in the mixer.

I bought this unit for my new home studio I was building. I like the size and the faders are much better than the competitors like Zoom.
