The quality of this chimney cap is good. It's plenty heavy and securely locked in place. I had been using plain steel ones, and replacing them every 3 years or so because they rusted out again and again. Stainless is the way to go if you're keeping the house for a long time, and especially if you heat with the fireplace a lot.

I just received this and the construction on it seems sturdy. It was very easy to install - simply tighten 2 screws on each side. It comes with a lifetime warranty, so I feel confident that it will last for years.
