Nice shorts, well made
I like most things about these shorts and scored them accordingly. They are well made of a durable, somewhat heavy canvas-like material, but are not stiff like canvas. The zipper is good and of appropriate length, pockets are deep enough and plentiful, and best of all, 7 belt loops! I don't care for men's pants where the manufacturer has gone cheap and skimped on belt loops, as 5 is not enough to keep your belt from riding up between loops. 7 is best, especially for any waist size larger than 30". Mine, in size 36, seemed to be spot-on for standard sizing and the waist fit well. The pants are comfortable, if a bit baggy; I could probably get both legs in one shorts leg if I tried, which I probably won't! Beyond that, the provided belt seems ok, although I don't know that I'll use it. It did seem to work well on the initial wearing.Other than the very full cut, I'm mildly disappointed with the length. I ordered these in part because some of the reviews said they end above the knee, which I prefer. Mine do not, instead falling right to the middle of my kneecap, which I find somewhat annoying - and I have a 34" inseam, so it's not because I have stumpy legs. Still, I can live with that because these are otherwise very nice shorts - and at a reasonable price, IMHO a good buy.

Great Shorts But Could Use Some Design Improvements IMO
Wanted to wear and wash these a few times before writing a review. Overall, love them. Fit well, seem to be well made and I expect durability, and very comfortable. Also love the web belt that came with it and the way it fastens securely. However, I would have given these 5 stars except for the following. IMO these could have been perfect with a few design changes. First and foremost, make the left side pockets exactly the same as the right side. The right side is VERY functional. The left, not so much. While the bottom left pocket is functional, the top left little pocket is useless IMO. Too small and will never use it for anything; it just takes up space that could be put to better use. Also, I'd prefer velcro on the back pockets, but I can live with the buttons. But I do plan on buying a few more pairs even with the annoying left side pockets design.

Extremely Comfortable
I bought these to replace an old pair that was extremely comfortable that I finally wore out after wearing them two to three days a week during the spring, summer and fall for a few years. These were by far my favorite pair of shorts, hence the wearing them so much. My local stores were all out of them in my size but thankfully Amazon still had them in stock! The shorts are baggy and airy and are comfortable for a bigger guy like me. The included cloth belt tends to bunch up (and rust if you wash it in the shorts too many times, whoops!) but is not attached to the shorts and can be replaced with any belt of your choice. The shorts have 2 regular side pockets, 2 rear pockets and 2 lower side cargo pockets for wallets, cell phones, pocket knives, knick knacks and anything else you want to keep in them. The cargo pockets are especially large. The cargo and rear pockets have buttons (2 functional and 2 spare on each cargo pocket, 1 button on each rear pocket) that allow you to keep things in the pockets where they belong. The button flaps can also be tucked into the pockets to allow for easy unobstructed access and don't interfere with my wallet. One thing to note though is that the rear buttons can get caught on things if you wear them exposed (flap tucked in) and I have lost one of the buttons already, thankfully it came off cleanly and they come with 4 spare matching buttons. The rear and cargo pockets also have an extra square of fabric sewn in on the inside to help reinforce the openings. The fabric in the inner side pockets however is not as sturdy as the exterior material and if you aren't careful it is easy to tear small holes near the top of the lining (have done so on 2/3 pairs I've owned). If you aren't careful to remove them from the dryer right away they will get slightly wrinkly as they are not wrinkle-free however it gives them a relaxed rustic look so it isn't really an issue. If you are concerned by this you should be able to fix this by quickly removing them from the dryer and folding them or touching them up with a hot iron later.Pros:-Comfortable-Airy-Lots of pockets-Free belt?Cons:-Belt (removable)-side pocket lining fabric

Great, Just Wish They Lasted Longer
These are great for the most part. Fit is perfect, they look good, the material is decent. I seem to get a few years out of them before they fade and the material breaks down and starts tearing. In my case, the crotch started thinning and tore open, and one day pulling them on my toe caught the bottom leg seam and the whole thing ripped open. I'll keep the old ones for 'home/yard duty' until they literally fall apart completely.

Shorts are amazing
Light, comfy and fit perfect if you have a behind that has shape. Comes with a belt that matches the shorts as well. Great buy for the money!
