nice for hair, not for beards
being stir crazy under quarantine for COVID, I decided to dye my hair blue. I'm 62, and have some greyk, but otherwise my hair is brunette. I have a lot grey in my beard. First of all, it was fun! never dyed my hair before. Second, my wife put it on my beard, but that was horrible, I couldn't breathe because the fumes right under my nose. ha, that was intense!. results: like I said I'm brunette where not grey. on the dark hair, it gave a nice blue sheen. one the grey it was a lighter blue and didn't penetrate completely but it still looked nice. On the beard, I don't know. I liked it at first but after a while I didn't. has long staying power on my hair. my beard grows fast, so I trimmed it off when the original grey roots came in. it looks much nicer with normal grey beard and blue remaining in hair. I will do it again, but not the beard.

Bright Teal is a scam!
This teal does almost nothing, don't purchase it!! I have been dying my hair myself for 20 years and have used nearly every dye from Manic Panic to boxes dye. I bought this so I could dye my roots and choose this color to blend with the rest of my brightly colored hair since I am trying to cut out bleach as much as possible. It was darker than I expected when I put it on, so I had high hopes. I got out of the shower and it looked like I hadn't used any dye at all. This is the first time I have ever had a boxed hair dye do hardly anything to my hair! It is slightly green at best. It's not a matter of my hair being too dark either since I have some natural blonde. I followed the instructions perfectly and even had some on my skin that was instantly gone when I washed out the dye which has NEVER happened before with any boxed dye. So either this product is expired (there was no date on the box) or a complete scam, but either way, don't waste your time and money like I did. I have used L'Oreal dye in the past and have never had an issue. I'm not sure if I would do so again after this experience.

I love this color!
This does come out more of an electric blue at first but when it washes out a bit it is just gorgeous. I absolutely love it, like all of these bright colors it does fade eventually, but you get a long run out of it. I have teal and purple streaks, so I wish I could get smaller size, I never need the whole box and much of it gets thrown out. But I keep going back to it after trying other brand because this is the best shade of teal, especially with dark hair.

Wrong Color
Since there are so many dyes and you won't know which one I'm talking about, this review is for the Tropical Teal. I have short dark ash blonde hair that was previously magenta so I used bleach to remove the remaining pinky red tones from my hair. The bleach worked perfectly as I had nice golden/platinum hair for the new dye. I followed the directions and mixed the dye. The contents in the bottle were blue. I covered my hair and waited 25 minutes, per the directions. I rinsed and washed with the included conditioner. I was really hoping and expecting green hair. That is not what I got. My hair is blue. Granted it's a pretty blue but I've already had blue hair and I bought teal dye. I'm definitely not happy about that. I'm not sure if the dyes got mixed up and put in the wrong box or what, but I have dark blue hair instead of the ordered teal.

Long lasting
Many reviews complain about it being the wrong color, and that's completely true. You get a dark electric blue, nowhere close to a teal, but I bought it with the intension of getting that color so that didn't bother me. The smell is very strong, definitely recommend using in a room with ventilation. I'm used to semi-permanent colors, think manic panic, arctic fox, etc, so I was very surprised by the amount of steps and the fact that it doesn't look blue after you mix it, it takes a little while. That together with the strong ammonia smell made me feel like I had done something wrong in multiple points throughout the process but don't worry it's normal. Afterwards my hair was completely fine and healthy and I've never had a blue color that laster this long. It's been more than a month and a half and you can definitely still see the blue. It's faded a little but it hasn't gone to that ugly yellowish green tone. I would recommend it if you want to put a little bit more work in the moment and not have to worry about re dyeing your hair for some time. Ik that keeping maintaining blue hair can be exhausting some times.

Not permanent what so ever
It washed out so quick I had to buy 2 bottles within a couple of weeks. But it was really pretty before it washed out.

love it
I actually got a box, unopened, from goodwill. Gave it a shot. I loved how bright it was, even for not preping my hair to a lighter tone. I actually had semi dark hair and it came out a lot better then planned. It lasted a good bit, even if it faded to green. I prepped my hair this time to blonde! Had to buy again, happy to find it on Amazon. Hopefully comes out a lot brighter!

Will not be buying againโฆ
I bought the tropical teal hair dye, followed all of the directions, and pet the bluish black mixture set on the hair for the required 25 minutes. The result of this bluish black hair dye? It BLEACHED the hair!!! Iโm absolutely devastated at the results. Wish I didnโt put the hair in a bonnet for the time it processed bc I trusted the brand. This project ended up being faulty and Iโm so broken up over it destroying isnโt of coloring.

Awesome coverage, but isn't the same color on the box (Still pretty though)
It's not the same color as in the picture. Instead it's really blue. Like... dark blue, but it's probably the best box dye I've used so far. Very very strong smelling, but I'm assuming that has something to do with the quality or something? Before this, I bought 2 dye (of another brand and color) and didn't have enough for all my hair. It barely covered much at all, so this time I bought 4... and 2 dye saturated all my hair! So the coverage is AMAZING! I like the color too. A little disappointed that it isn't the real looking color on the box, but every time I catch a glimpse of my deep royal blue hair in the mirror, I can't help but play with it and grin. It really is a nice color! Thank you! Will definitely buy this one again!

Great although not teal or sarcelle
Great results although color is not a true teal or sarcelle in french, its closer to a blue.

Not thw color it says. Only blue
Sucks. Came out 100% blue. No warmth to it at all. Zero. Hair feels ok. Little dry but zero teal anywhere.

for anyone with previously dyed hair....
Ok, so i did something a little ballsy here... i wanted to redo a color i did a few years ago and couldnt find the original dye... this one looked similar so i said frig it gonna try it! actually it turned out much better than expected! i was on a tight budget for this impromptu little hair dye mission, so i used box bleach overtop of previously dyed hair (i did brown earlier in the year, into red, and then into black... ๐ณ wondering how i still have hair on my head, too ๐) bleach came out kinda brownish red, my natural roots much lighter (would recommend getting it lighter if your desired color is lighter) and then added this ontop.... in the light it's phenomenal!!! it looks like a dark moody blue (rightfully so) and i loveee it! the smell was kind of overwhelming but nothing you don't expect from a box dye. really happy that this didnt go downhill, but if you're thinking of doing it DO IT BABES!!!

Bright and beautiful on bleached hair
Be aware that if you bleach your hair before coloring, this "teal" comes out as Grover blue. Luckily, I love muppet-colored hair, but if you were wanting something more subtle, do NOT bleach beforehand! I think it probably uses the orange residue from natural brown hair to turn the blue into teal. On the plus side, it's easy to use and easy to clean off of skin even after setting, which is usually not the case with bright colors. In the picture, the darker blue is the Feria "teal" and the pale blue is L'Oreal Colorista. My eyebrows were also bleached and were the only hair that ended up actually teal! Overall, I love that I've found a reliable bright blue hair dye, even if that's not what it's supposed to be. Edit: after the success of the teal/blue, I had to try to fuschia: SUPER bright, absolutely gorgeous. Bright fuschia on bleached hair, darker fuschia on darker hair. I am 100% a Feria woman now. As with the teal/blue, the bright blue in the picture is my go-to accent color helper, L'Oreal Colorista.
