great machine for the price
This is a quality machine. I recommend it over just an elliptical because it gives you the chance to sit and pedal when your thighs are burning. That being said, you get what you pay for. It is all mechanical so yes it's a little noisy, There is a belt that spins around a wheel. Not recommended for the upper level of an apartment building but it's fine for the user. This machine is not for a large person. I am 5"7", 170. Anything much more than that I can feel it would be unstable. Also, I wear a size 9 women's shoe. There is only an inch or so remaining on the pedal so a man with large feet would not be able to fit his foot on the platforms. The led display is a joke. You can't really see it but you don't really need it. Just set a timer and take your own pulse. Those things aren't accurate anyway. Assembly would have been impossible without the video. I did it myself, as a woman, but it wasn't easy and took hours. Had to label all parts first and then take things a step at a time. I would suggest you have someone who has general knowledge of tools and assembling things. And if you had to return it, it would be impossible. Luckily mine works fine. Been using for 30 days. No problems. You can get a sufficient cardio exercise and it's more diverse than just a bike or just an elliptical. But again, this is an inexpensive piece of equipment. It is home-grade and nowhere near the quality of gym equipment. Plus side is it has a very small footprint. And I received in 3 days. Good Luck!

Smooth And Sturdy But Arrived Broken
I'm writing this review after using the Trainer for a total of about 15 minutes on day 1. I'll update if something changes significantly with further use. The item arrived broken. As shown in the picture, the "encased" flywheel is surrounded by brittle plastic that cracked and shattered during shipping. The pieces in the second picture were inside the "encasement" when I took it out of the box. It's not a significant enough breakage to warrant packing this beast back up and lugging it around to return it, and it doesn't seem to have any effect on the operation, but it was less than optimal. That's really the only negative thing I can say about this. It is sturdy and operates very smoothly. Initial impression is very positive. Assembly was a workout on its own. It wasn't difficult, but it was pretty physical with bending and kneeling and maneuvering. I'm at about a 7 on a 1-10 scale of handiness with a fairly decent set of tools, and it took me about two hours from opening the box to hopping on. I watched the assembly video that was attached to this listing when I purchased the item to kind of get a feel for what the process would be like. I think that helped. The instructions themselves are very clear and straightforward, though, and the parts are well laid out and labeled right down to the individual bolts and washers. You'll get a little messy because things are pre-greased. If you've ever put furniture or other semi-complicated equipment together before, though, you'll find the process clear overall. Where you really get the "low cost" feel of the item is in the "computer." It's a very basic timer/distance/pulse thing. It's not going to give you a structured work-out or anything like that. That said, it does what it sets out to do well. Just don't expect more than it is. As for the actual mechanical aspect, this trainer really seems to outperform its price. When you're on and doing your thing, it doesn't feel cheap at all. It feels very sturdy and stable. I'm not a big or heavy guy, though, so YMMV according to body type, etc. For me, it's perfect and very stable. It makes very little noise when you're using it - just a woosh. I was very happy with that. I like to listen to music when I exercise, and this unit's silent operation lets me focus my attention on the music rather than on any annoying clicks or bangs. It is very smooth in operation. It adjusts at all the important points: The elliptical bars, the seat forward and back and the seat up and down. As long as you're in the range of sizes given in the description, it seems you will be accommodated. Except for the breakage during shipping, I am very pleased and impressed with this trainer.

Great Piece of Machinery
I picked out my 3-in-1 Home Gym and my son bought it for me for Christmas...and I'm still excited over it! Whatever the weather condition is and no matter the time of day or afternoon, I can get my exercises in---just whenever I want to. I surprised him by putting it together by myself (it didnโt take too long). I watched the video. It's very sturdy. I'm a 66-year-old female, and if I can successfully put it together and with all ease, almost anyone should be able to. I enjoy watching my 65โ while on it. It's the best piece of exercise machine I've ever owned! :). Update: Itโs now October 2024 and itโs still holding up great. The only issue is, I am unable to read/monitor my progress because the batteries corroded inside of the compartment and the screen has blacked out.

Sturdy and Reliable
Very sturdy elliptical. It does wobble a little but not much and it's not annoying while working out. It hasn't impeded my ability to use the elliptical at a fast pace. This thing has a big range for resistance which I like. You will smell a weird rubber smell at first if you go really fast on the elliptical. The resistance band rubs against the plastic part of the wheel and it causes friction. Not much and it doesn't bother me. It was not hard to put together, but the base is a bit heavy and I suggest using 2 people.

Useless as a bike, elliptical function is passable
Staring with positives that made me give it 3 starts and not 1. Pros: - Not hard to assemble if you have some prior experience (my husband did it under 2 hours, said instructions were easy to follow) - bike seat is very comfortable - it's fairly compact and can be moved around by one person - elliptical works OK - not very noisy - sturdy enough to last at least a year Cons - Parts keep coming loose, have to tighten over and over again - Elliptical is wobbly so you cannot go fast - No resistance, which makes it useless as a bike - No customer servie Now, details, starting with the bike function. Resistance is almost non-existent. Rotate the resistance knob all you want, you will go from 0 to may be 1 and that's it. Called the customer service thinking the knob could be bad. Call goes straight to voicemail, and nobody ever called me back. This was early 2021, so may be it was the pandemic, but I never got any customer support. On a closer look, it seems that resistance is created by a thin, straight strip of felt rubbing against the front of the flywheel. The strip is very flimsy, and everywhere in instructions they caution you not to tighten it too much, or it will snap. Rotating the resistance knob pulls the strip closer to the wheel. How this flimsy strip contraption can slow down a very heavy flywheel in any noticeable way is beyond me. My conclusion, it's not a faulty part, it's just a bad design altogether. To be fair, husband says he can feel some resistance and for his 80 yo mom it could be a workout. To me (average female) pedaling the bike requires absolutely no effort on the highest setting, instead feels like be wheel almost rotates itself. As a result, I get no workout, strength or cardio, and the bike is useless. As an elliptical, it's OK. I've been using it for over a year, every other day, and it didn't fall apart yet, so that's as plus. Parts keep get loosened, I keep tightening them. My biggest complaint, It wobbles. If I try to go faster it becomes a balance exercise instead of cardio. I would not recommend it to people who are prone to falls. It's still a moderate exercise, and easy on my joints, and that's why I still use it. Overall, you can find a better way to spend your money. I do not recommend this product.

Good value and does what it's supposed to
I have owned and used various ellipticals and stationary bikes over the years. If you are looking to not spend a lot and get both of those machines in one, buy this one. I have had it for a month now. It gets used almost daily by my son and I. It's holding up perfectly. As far as the noise factor other people have mentioned, sure it has had some sounds come and go. But nothing that I haven't experienced with all equipment like this. If you are trying to find something "silent" I wish you luck! I'm always listening to music or watching something anyway as most people do. So it's just not an issue for me. This is a sturdy piece, meaning the parts are mostly pretty well constructed. But it is not sizable, meaning is doesn't have a large base or excess weight. I can move it around fairly easily which I like compared to the last beastly elliptical that I had. So anyway, I would think twice if you are a very large person. Stick to the weight recommendations. As far as smaller people. I am a 5'4" female and I use it set at the smallest settings. But I am also just 120lbs so if you are a little shorter but have a bit more in the trunk it should work fine. Assembly, did it by myself took 2 hours for everything, unpacking and complete assembly. The instructional video online was awesome. It gives clear and accurate instructions. Best I've ever seen. Printed instructions were perfectly fine too.

Seat doesn't lock in place correctly, wheel vibrates and makes lot of noise, after use gets worse.
I did not find anything I liked about this product. The pin that locks the seat in place has a design issue and does not lock it correctly. After using it a few weeks the bike basically vibrates don't matter how tight the screws/bolts are. The wheel started off OK but after a few weeks it is vibrating and making a lot of noise. The instructions indicate to adjust the strap as needed to take the slack out of the wheel. Doesn't matter what you do here you still have issues with the wheel. If you tighten it a little more it's too hard to peddle and if you loosen it nothing really changes. Trying to use it as a bike and since the seat is loose any movement to the left or right makes it an issue using the bike. This exercise bike is not designed well and a pain to use.

Generally good but.............
I have this machine only about a week. It takes some time to put together but if you follow the instructions carefully, it is fairly straightforward. So far, it is working fine. It's quiet and the combination of the elliptical mechanism and the option to sit while pedaling is very nice. Too soon to tell how durable it will be but it seems well made. The reason I didn't give it five stars is that the description states magnetic resistance but it is not. This is an important feature and it's why I selected this machine in the first place. As soon as I saw the friction belt on the front flywheel, I reread the Amazon description and it still states magnetic resistance. Belts wear out, magnets generally do not. I feel deceived by this incorrect information. If someone would like to explain how a machine with a friction belt has magnetic resistance, I would love to hear it. Amazon needs to correct this rather significant error.
