My nails are very thin and split down the middle of my cuticle bed. I wanted something that I could put on my nail to protect it while they grew out and hopefully got a little healthier. Someone at Ulta suggested the builder gel. So I found this (I like orly products anyway). I stalled for several days because I was nervous about how to use it and it’s always such a pain to remove everything if they look terrible. After watching a tutorial, and taking it slowly, I was very pleasantly surprised at how easy it really was! And with good results! (There is definitely a learning curve, but for my first time with builder gel, it looks pretty good. Amazed at how strong it is! Will definitely be using this going forward. The self leveling gel was a lifesaver!

Please excuse my dirty hands. I'm no where near a professional and I can not afford to go to the salon anymore. My kids make more messes than I can handle and I have weak nails and having bariatric surgery nearly a year ago doesn't help the nail breakage. I'm able to scrub scrub scrub and they stay on. All you need to put these on is an LED light, nail clippers (not required but handy), this kit, and a nail file. I'm going to get a drill just so I can do it more quickly and clean under the nail so it sits more flush with my natural nail. If you have weak nails or are a biter I highly recommend! Bonus if you use gel polish, don't have to damage the natural nail every time you want to change colors.

I really like this product. I’ve been using it for about a month now. It’s been really durable which I love. It’s crystal clear and as long as you don’t shake the bottle it doesn’t get many bubbles in it. I’ve had some issues arise with application and consistency the builder gel is self leveling but I have had issues getting my nails to look even and uniform. I’ve noticed this being more of an issue when I’m trying to add more length to my natural nails. I’ve also learned that you should have some qtips handy when you’re doing this to wipe excess gel off you cuticles and the skin around your nails. The first time I applied a set of these I didn’t do a very good job keeping it away from my cuticles and as time went on I noticed the spot where the gel was on my skin peeled up and that really messed with the integrity of the rest of the nail. All in all it’s pretty easy to use with some practice. It seems like a really great alternative to going to the nail salon every three weeks for a fill.

No, but seriously.. not only was this my first time applying gel polish on my own (Kiara Sky Plum it up for anyone who’s wondering) but this was also my first time applying any sort of builder. I’m typically a strictly salon girl as I’m not very talented in the polish area.. but due to COVID restrictions I started to play with my nails at home. I tried an at home acrylic kit and boy was that a complete fail.. way too difficult and messy for me to have the patience to go beyond ATTEMPTING one nail. BUT… Let me tell you guys.. this was by far the easiest thing to apply, very similar to just applying polish but in an unconventional way. I followed the directions, used the Sun S7 180W nail lamp (which worked like a charm) and finished with salon quality nails! You’d never know I did them at home on my own, my hubby even said so. They are strong and seem super durable! I even contemplated wearing them without polish but the tips are just a little too clear after buffing. For the record, I did have a little bit of difficulty getting the forms to sit right on my thumbs but I watched orly’s tutorials and that helped me a ton. I am very pleased with this product and intend to continue to use it even when my nails have reached my desired length just for added durability. Also, Amazon’s price is wayyyy better than on the manufacturer’s website. One more time.. ADD TO CART, you know you want to!

I had to stop having my nails done, to save some money. However, because I do shipping and receiving at work, and do woodworking as a hobby, my nails take a beating so I like having the gel "armor" protecting them and keeping them looking nice. I was worried about getting these smooth because I've tried doing acrylics at home, but it didn't work out for me. It was murder trying to get them perfectly smooth, but because this stuff is self-leveling, that wasn't an issue. Also, I'm going on 2 weeks and they are holding up strong. It does take me about 2 hours to remove the old gel, put the new stuff on, and then paint/cure them. That will probably get better as time goes on. My suggestion, use this kit and Gelish brand gel polish. Watch a couple videos and block out a couple hours of time to just sit down and learn to use it. You will get nails that last and look great.

Once you watch the videos and try a few nails you're hooked. I got this to make my natural nails survive hard activities but I already made them longer and it was great. Item came as described so seller is reliable.

This products separates from the natural nail tips within the first 24hrs. When I used it to build extensions it worked perfectly but the purpose of my purchase was to provide my natural nails with more structure since my nails are very thin and brake and crack easily. I wont be repurchasing this brand again. I actually purchased this after the Orly Bodyguard did the same thing, I thought the Builder gel would be better but it’s not. Don't waste your money if you want to use it for overlays.
