Thin Merino Wool Socks for Men, Lightweight Dress Hiking Socks

Bonangel Merino wool socks for men work great for this woman, are soft, well-made, and keep me warm, including today's high of 8 degrees. I bought the ones with the red line and have worn them for 10 days. I have shoveled in 25 degree weather and my lower legs are warm while my thighs turned red and were quite cold. Like good wool, these are not hot to wear in the house. My skin stays at an even temperature. So while I can't guarantee the wool content other than what their label says it is, they behave like wool when I wear them. The wide elastic-y band at the top (1 1/2" when worn) doesn't dig into my leg but they stay up after 2 washings. I machine wash and line dry them because that's what I do. The weave is very close so the feel is soft yet sturdy. Maybe that helps keep the cold air out? These look like nice dress socks but they have become my go-to, daily winter socks. They came on time too. I wear a ladies size 8.5. The heel is a bit long but doesn't show with pants or boots and is comfy. I love that these are thin.

These thin wool socks were exactly what I needed for shoes that fit well but cannot handle thicker winter socks. They are soft, comfortable, and the argyle pattern looks great. The wool keeps feet dry and helps reduce bacteria and odor, which makes them easy to wear all day. The only drawbacks are the limited pattern options and the fact that they are not available in a shorter no‑show style for summer. A lighter version in that cut would be perfect for warm‑weather use while still offering the benefits of wool.

A bit large even after wash and dry. Thickness is perfect for dress shoes and I am happy with the product.

My feet often perspire when I wear cotton socks. Wool bothers me because it makes me itch. But after reading about Merino Wool, I decided to try out these socks. They are great. They are very comfortable and soft. I can wear them even in the summer time with high humidity without my feet perspiring. They are equally pleasing in the winter as they keep my feet nice and warm without drying out my skin. The fit is great and the elastic is just right (neither too snug nor too loose). Even though I wear them a lot (and even separated out four pairs-- saving the others for future use), there is no sign of deterioration after two years-- no holes, no pilling, no fading, no thin spots, no failure in the elastic. They were quite reasonably priced too. I have since bought pairs of navy and dark grey which have been equally pleasing. My only disappointment is that the company does not appear to have these in light grey, light blue, brown, and kaki. If they did, I would buy them for sure. Perhaps the manufacturer will read this and fulfil my wish. One more little thing. I like the red stitching on the toe as it keeps my socks from getting confused in the laundry with the socks of my two teenage sons.

They are thin but they are durable and holding up well. I make my living in boots walking, climbing, and crawling around automated machinery. I’m very particular about socks as my income is reliant upon my ability to be an industrial athlete. These socks fit true to size and hold shape and grip after multiple washings. From a functional standpoint, I’ve added a cotton ankle sock to get my desired size and it’s functional. Always pay attention to the actual merino wool content on socks that are advertised as such. These are 70%, but I’ve seen socks labeled as merino wool which were as low as 20% wool and priced higher. Another thing I’m particular about with socks is I want all of them the same color, preferably black. I get frustrated with three packs that have 3 different colors. I buy two to three dozen pairs of socks a year and trying to mate up different colors is just an added challenge that I don’t want. If they’re all the same color and the dryer eats one or one gets damaged you can toss it as they’re all the same. I’d recommend these socks to anyone that knows the benefits of merino wool. These are better suited for dress shoes due to thickness, but as I titled it I missed that in the description.

I watched a video where a guy was wearing these layered with other wool socks, so that’s why I bought them. If you did not layer them they will not keep you warm in freezing weather. However, I layered with another thicker pair of wool socks, bc I get freaking cold camping, and they kept my feet warm all night!! I really like the feel of them and the over quality! They are quite long, but I like a loose fit. Make sure you follow the guidance on how to wash them!! You cannot dry will socks they will shrink and get scratchy!!

These socks did not hold up well at all around the cuff area. After one or two cycles in the washing machine and dryer, the cuff's elasticity came undone. Now every time I wear them and go to take my shoes off, the socks come off with them. I now use these socks as mittens. I would have given these a two star, but I will say that they do make for pretty good mittens. I like them better than regular mittens, especially since I am apple to better use the touch screen on my phone while wearing them.
