Meh!
Looks great, but it doesn't make a strong sound. I bought this for my 12 year old nephew, who is into music. He wanted some "percussion" instruments. Bought a great cowbell, and thought I'd add this among other ones I bought locally. This one doesn't sound as great as it looks.

Thin On Sound
If you wanna give an interesting percussion instrument to a child, this is a great choice. If you, like me, want a percussion instrument to add interest, dimension & rhythm to your music, pass this guy right on by.It is NOT 14 1/2 inches long - it is 13.I produces a small and almost tinny sound, although yes it is made from wood. It just doesn't have any resonance, such as a full-sized Guiro would.Buyer beware - I made a mistake and returned it to continue shopping for something better.
