Striking, medium sized tree with large, divided, exotic looking leaves that emerge with a reddish tinge then turn rich green. Pretty, fragrant, green-white flowers appear in summer, hanging in dense, drooping panicles followed by fruits which stay on the tree into winter. All parts of the tree are scented and the wood is burnt in temples in Asia to infuse them with its delicate fragrance. Toona wood is also excellent for furniture as it is durable and easy to work with.
