You raise and lower the flags by loosening the locking sleeves on each segment. This allows the flags to be brought down to reach level. Very quick. Has swivels that allow the flag to spin around the pole. The top swivel gets stuck sometimes if the wind is confused. The way I corrected that is by not fully extending the top segments of the pole so that there is very little tension on the back of flag. This loosens the tension on the swivel and allows it spin in the wind better. I also replaced the included light weight flag witha heaver duty one that tends not to wrap itself around the pole.

The flag shown in the pic is the one that came with it for this review. However I have already purchased a flag that was made in the USA to replace it with. I realize the pole and light (purchased separately) are still made overseas. If the pole fails prematurely I will update this review, although it does seem well made.Update 4/2/20, six months later and the pole and light still working great. The flag as expected failed prematurely but I made the purchase for the pole and the flag was simply a bonus.Update 10/7/20, year later and still good. Does slide down sometimes and sometimes have to untwist to lower, but it's light enough to just pull out of the included sleeve when needed.

This is a lovely telescopic flag pole that I would highly recommend.BUT, when you receive the box open it as soon as you receive it. I purchased mine in September of 2022 and because of circumstances was unable to get it up before now.My Brother put it up 3 days ago and today realized the company had not included the top piece which included one silver and one gold ball.I had recycled the box so knew they were not included.Because it was so long I had too purchase one color. They did give me a ten percent discount and free shipping but because of my not opening the box first it did cost me more.I do recommend this lovely pole but make sure you know it’s all there.

This flagpole will not stay up!! The clamps do not lock and as many times as I pull it up it just slides down!!! It’s making me so angry!!! The American flag is almost touching the ground and I have to remove it so that doesn’t happen!!!

I had received my flag pole, but when I tried to extend it, part of it came out and several black plastic pieces fell on the ground. I could not get the flagpole to work again and I contacted the seller. They tried to help me repair it, but it didn't work so they sent me a new flagpole to replace the defective one. They responded right away and I am very pleased with this seller.

Bought for my husband. We both love it. Very easy to assemble and use. Looks great.

Really happy with it

This is my second pole. First one broke in the remnants of Hurricane Ida. Remnants. Why didn't I bring the flag down you ask? The entire pole was seized in place. I could not get the damn thing down the day before.Ok fine.... pole broke in half. I promptly ordered a second pole. Just like the first, it was fine to begin with. After a month, damn thing is seized in place. I cannot lower or change the flags. I am so pissed.Learned my lesson. I will be going with a hurricane rated flag pole that has a very long warranty (most are at least 10 years, some are 20). You get what you pay for.

Flagpole looked good and was easy to install. But after having it up for a month and a half it has came loose and lowered itself 5 times and in doing this rubbed the aluminum finish off the pole in 3 spots. And in a moderate wind yesterday it blew over. One of the sections separated from the mechanism inside, bent the lip and pulled apart the spot that was crimped together.
