Invicta Men's Pro Diver Quartz Watch with Stainless Steel Strap

I am very experienced with watches, having worked in the retail side of the watch industry for 25 years. I have owned everything from budget watches to luxury timepieces. This particular Invicta Pro Diver (model 26970) is truly amazing for the price. Naturally, no watch is perfect; I would appreciate this watch even more if it had a ceramic bezel, sapphire crystal and better lume. However, for such a reasonable price, I’m happy to overlook these features for a variety of reasons. This watch embraces four important aspects that make wearing it especially gratifying: 1) STYLE — I’ve always been a fan of older Rolex Submariner designs; 2) COMFORT — This quartz version is thinner than a typical Pro Diver automatic and is well- suited for my 6.5-inch wrist; 3) ACCURACY — The quartz movement in this watch is dependable and extremely accurate; 4) SCREW-DOWN CROWN — I noticed there is confusion on the Internet about whether or not this particular model has a screw-down crown, so i’d like to clarify that once and for all … This model (26970) ABSOLUTELY HAS A SCREW- DOWN CROWN, even though it may be described in some places as having a crown that is push/pull. In my opinion, the existence of a screw-down crown makes the watch more durable, and it definitely makes my purchase even more gratifying!

I have both this quartz version and the automatic version. The band is identical, the watches look identical. The automatic is much thicker because of the display case back and the NH35 movement thickness. I prefer the quartz version because it's thinner and a quartz movement is much more accurate than an NH35 Seiko movement. The automatic is heavier as well. I paid $54 for the quartz, $89 for the automatic. Amazing that Invicta can produce this quality of watch at this price-point. Sure it has a mineral crystal, not sapphire... push pins on the bracelet, not screws... a mediocre lume... but at this price-point one must accept some compromises. That said, it's truly a beautiful watch. Every aspect of the watch case is 75% to 85% of the quality of a Rolex, mirror polishing, no sharp edges, screw-down crown is smooth as silk, water resistant to 200M. Yes, a Rolex is perfection, no doubt, but is it good value? Not in my opinion. Rolex is simply stupid expensive. There are several $1000 to $2000 watches that are literally the very same quality... but this Invicta is $54!!!! That's free in my opinion. Plus this quartz movement is actually much more accurate than the swiss automatic movement in a $12,000 Rolex. Nobody is claiming this Invicta is a collector's watch... there's no status from wearing it... I doubt it will increase in value... it's just a damn good homage watch that looks very much like a Rolex Sub. And at $54 you might as well buy one... if for nothing else to marvel at how good it looks and feels for $54.

Firstly, beyond how to how to tell the time from them, i know virtually nothing about watches - so if you want comparisons between automatic, or quartz etc,how it compares to similar watches in the same price range, or anything technical then look elsewhere. I work as a diving instructor. I don't need the watch for diving- as like most people who dive regularly i use my dive computer rather than a wrist watch. However i do always wear a watch to allow me to ensure that the dive trips/ snorkel trips are on schedule etc. Time management is a part of the job. The one "must have" criteria i have for a watch is that i don't have to remove it for Scuba Diving - beyond that i'm not too fussy really. I normally wear a cheap Casio as they do the job fine and if it flooded (they never do) it doesn't cost much to replace. My watch strap on my old Casio broke so I decided it was time for a new watch. I haven't worn an analogue watch in years and thought i'd see if i could get an inexpensive one that looked good and was capable of using when diving. Had a bit of a wander round Amazon and settled on this one. - I bought it in December when the price had dropped to $45 - about double the price of my Casio First Impressions Looks good, not too big and clunky, and the bracelet looks fine, but was waaaay too big for my wrist - I have narrow wrists admittedly, but unless you have arms like tree trunks then you will almost certainly need to remove a few links - see attached photo. Get a jeweler to do it, or you can find "how to" videos on you tube. There are no jewelers anywhere near me so i did it myself - found some of the pins were relatively easy to remove and others weren't moving for love nor money. I've never tried adjusting a watch bracelet previously, so have nothing to gauge it against, but i don't think the pins are high quality, though it could be incompetence on my part, or a combination of the two. Having adjusted the strap, the watch itself runs fine. The screw down crown allows easy adjustment. simply unscrew the crown, and then you can pull it out to the first position to adjust the date, then pull it out to the second position to adjust the time. once done, push the crown in two positions and screw the crown back in...... the last step it the really important one for ensuring the crown is watertight - if you don't screw it back in fully then your watch will flood. In a previous review I saw photos of a flooded watch, and you can see from the gap between the crown and the watch body that it hasn't been screwed in - I don't know for sure if he took it into the water like that but it it would have caused it to flood if he had. Anyway, most importantly for me, mine has remained water tight. I've taken it on numerous dives, to a max depth so far of 80 ft and had no problems. Basically this watch has ticked all the boxes i need it to on price and functionality, and looks good. I almost marked it down a little for the bracelet pins, but i suppose you do get what you pay for, and overall the value for money is great. It's the first time I've gotten round to writing a review, and it rambled on a bit, but hopefully it's helpful.

Edit: I’ve had the silver/black one for a few weeks, the blue face one longer. These things keep time incredibly well, look awesome feel great. They seem to be only 14 grams or so lighter than a Rolex Submariner. Really well built. Anyone looking from more than 3 ft away would assume you are sporting a Rolex. That’s ok if my $50 watch looks that good. One thing to be aware of with Invicta is that many models look the same. I think I initially ordered a “pro diver” 43mm. It was large and heavy. Sent back. This model (40mm ) is perfect for me. So be aware of the specs 3mm doesn’t seem like much. If you want a BIG heavy watch buy the other one. The only possible downside is the glass material. But if it breaks or cracks replacing the watch is cheaper than a repair. Sapphire is what better watches use but the eye can’t tell from just looking at it. The only other downside is that a bad guy could easily mistake it for a Rolex and make you a theft target :(. Invicta makes incredible watches for the money. The variety they offer is pretty amazing to, but their prices and specs vary a lot as well. This is the second silver/black Invicta that I received and I really like this one. The 43mm case doesn't seem like that much bigger than this 40mm case but I would not be able to wear it. I think what makes things confusing is that Invicta uses "Pro Diver" in their model names a lot, though the product varies. I recently purchased the same watch with blue bezel and silver/gold bracelet. It is the same watch as the one I'm reviewing now. But it's real "blingy" and I wouldn't want to wear it every day. I just wanted something more plain. This watch is a pretty good knockoff of a Rolex Submariner, but at a price point where a normal guy can have a few of these laying around. I guess there is a reason that Rolex can charge up to $25k for one, but I'm not a collector and can have the look without the price tag. The one thing that I am aware of that you should be too is that the glass is crystal glass, which doesn't hold up like saphire glass does. For for something in the $50 price range if you break it you can afford to throw it away and get a new one. I'm sure Invicta has watches with the better glass. One thing to be aware of is that if you have to remove links because the braclet is pretty generous in size, you will need a pin removal tool, unlike Rolex that uses screws to secure the links. I think I paid something like $11 for it. Never having done this before I had no difficulty removing links though I had to figure it all out as the tutorials aren't very good. Just watch the arrows on the inside of the bracelet to see which direction the pins need to be extracted. There is one thing to be aware of. Invicta watches come with layers of protective plastic. So if you're going to remove links you will have to remove the plastic first. If you're thinking of returning it, I think it is only ethical not to do any of that until you're sure you will keep it. Again, it's not a collector's watch, but is very handsome even up close. The problem is, at this price point it is too easy to buy a lot of the same style of watch in different colors. Not a horrible problem to have.

Those familiar with my reviews in the past know that I'm a big fan of Invicta dive watches. They're dependable, rugged, beautiful and last a long time. And yes, they look EXACTLY like the Rolex Submariner. Invicta, however, doesn't pretend that their Pro Diver series of wristwatches are simply a copy or even an homage to the Rolex Submariner series of wristwatches. Invicta doesn't even hope that their watches are mistaken for Rolex, either, because the Invicta name is PLASTERED all over their watches. Invicta, after all, is a 184 year-old Swiss watch company, founded in 1837. Rolex is a 116 year-old English company founded in 1905, then moved to Switzerland after World War I. Therefore, if anyone is to be revered for their Swiss heritage, it's Invicta. Now, let's talk about the "homage" part. The modern dive watch was first invented by Blancpain with its iconic "Fifty Fathoms Bathyscaphe," introduced in 1953 and worn by the legendary Jacques Cousteau. The Fifty Fathoms was so iconic that...guess who...Rolex came out with a virtual copy in 1954, the Submariner. The Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Bathyscaphe dive watch has, over the last 68 years, become the iconic and archetypal design for nearly all dive watches. It has become a "style" of watch...and not an homage or copy of any one brand or model. As a result, the Invicta Pro Diver series of watches should correctly be considered as a segment of the market representing the Blancpain Fifty Fathoms/Rolex Submariner "style" of dive watches...and not an homage to anyone. I happen to own an all-gold tone Pro Diver, a gold and stainless Pro Diver, and this all-stainless steel Pro Diver. I call them respectively, "The Formal," "The Professional" and "The Standard." I purposely purchased a quartz version of the Standard because of a quartz watch's ability to keep accurate time. I use the "hacking" feature of all three watches to synchronize them to a super-accurate "atomic" clock that sits on my nightstand. The quartz version is by far the most accurate, keeping pace with the atomic clock down to the second over a weeks' time. If you are thinking of buying this watch, please note that Invicta not only makes both automatic (self-winding) and quartz versions of all three watches, but they also offer them in two sizes: 37.5mm (more suitable to women and smaller wrists) and the larger (standard) 40mm man's size. So when you order, double check to make sure you’re ordering the correct type and size. All that said, Invicta offers many more styles than Rolex or just about any other watch company. Does Rolex have such fanciful watches as the Invicta DC Comics, Disney Limited Editions, Marvel, Star Wars and many other collaborative collections? Considering all the sneaky trade-in practices, price gouging, shady marketing and other questionable business practices Rolex is famous for, I consider Rolex buyers to be either strictly investment purchasers or just plain uneducated suckers. So if you're not buying a Rolex to "flip" it a few years down the line for a profit, then you're just a sucker. I mean, c'mon, I don't care how well a watch is constructed, any watch in the $16K to $250K region is simply a ripoff.

I bought this watch almost a year ago and I think I've worn it every day since. I have done a fair bit of manual labor while wearing this watch and the face has yet to scratch. The stainless steel body and band, of course, have shown some wear, but only superficially. Actually, it's minute enough that you have to look lovely to see any scratches at all. I have gone swimming with this watch on several occasions and have never had any problems with the waterproofing. It keeps time well enough for my purposes, though I'm not a watch snob so take that as you will. As some have noted, there's a bit of play in the minute hand while setting the time, so that it's nearly impossible to get it dead on, but a variation in the minute hand of no more than 45 seconds doesn't constitute a problem at this price point. I got mine for about $56 and it really gives the appearance of a much more expensive watch. Not that it intends to deceive anyone into thinking that it's a Rolex, quite the opposite with its liberal branding which some find overbearing but I don't notice enough to mind, but I have had some people ask if it was a Rolex. Some people have said that the glow in the dark paint is practically useless, but I haven't had any problems with mine. Even late into the night, it shines sufficiently bright for me to tell the time. Overall, I am quite satisfied with this watch. If you do decide to get one, do yourself a favor and buy from a seller who, like Amazon, has a decent return policy. Invicta is somewhat known for making it difficult and expensive to get a watch repaired or replaced, even if it came broken. I got a protection plan with mine for the same reason.

Unbelievably beautiful watch. Picture doesn't do it justice. I don't swim or dive, so my ability to fully test this watch in a maritime environment will be lacking... sorry. The second hand lined up perfectly with the markers on the watch face.. The solid link stainless steel bracelet adds quite a bit of weight to the watch so I got a 20mm NATO band to lighten it up, and also give it a more casual vibe. So...are there any things worth mentioning that I didn't like? Ok, first, as some others may have mentioned, the lume on the hands and markers fade pretty quickly when you go into a dark environment. Second, the action on the rotating bezel is somewhat stiff. These are valid issues, especially if this were an officially certified dive watch, which it's not. Any commercial diver would need to have their head examined if they were to seriously consider using this as a tool watch as they repair nuclear submarines or work on offshore oil rigs. However, if you've read this far into the review you know that is not what this watch is for. It's for regular people who want a watch they can wear to beach, to the pool, or for casual diving. Since my tax bracket is NOT in the top 10 percentile, I can't afford a Rolex. Even if I saved enough for a Submariner, I'm certain I'd hardly ever wear it, saving it only for "special occasions". With this INVICTA, priced LESS THAN $50(!!!), I can wear this and not worry.

For the $38.49 I paid this the best watch I have ever purchased. I have a Seiko quartz watch that I purchased in 1985 that had quit working and a good Fossil quartz with gold trim bracelet that I've owned for many years. This Invicta arrived Jan 5 ,2022 and I set it to the Boulder, CO atomic clock Jan 5 and as of today Feb 20 it has gained only 7 seconds. My Seiko and my still working Fossil usually varied by as much as 15 to 20 seconds a month & both on the + side. I can't comment on water resistance as I do not wear my watches in the shower. I am 88 years old now but when I was in the Navy during the Korean War I owned a Croton which was stolen and a Wyler both stainless steel automatics and water resistant. Both of these two brands are no longer being made and as I recall I had paid over $100 for each of them in 1951 & 1953. The minute & hour hands both align perfectly on the minute & hour markings & the second hand also hits each second mark perfectly as it rotates around the dial. The lume is poor and fades in a few minutes but I don't wear my watches to bed so not an issue for me. The polish & satin finishes on the case & band are excellent also. I expect this to be the last watch I will ever buy. Totally satisfied!

This should be a critical review with less stars but it’s not. The only reason I returned the watch was because the luminosity was not to the standard claimed. This may have been due to storage issues or a QA problem when assembled. Invicta have made a fantastic homage to the Rolex deep sea dweller 126660. The oyster style bracelet contains solid split pin hammered links and a secure clasp. The bracelet really delivers on quality and is equal to most of the higher end Seiko’s that I own. Very little droop when held sideways. Unusual for this price range. The 41mm case is polished and completely symmetrical with a signed screw down crown which works well through adjustment of both the hands and the date range. The bezel is aluminium and stiff. I don’t want it to be lose but I had to remove it from my wrist to make a full circle. No biggie as I’m confident it would loosen with use. Absolutely gorgeous dial face with indices correctly spaced and detailed. Mine was the quartz movement which is Japanese and known to be accurate to 4 seconds a week. I paid £46 for this timepiece and it was an absolute steal. The luminosity was important for me as I work in low light at night and this one was pretty none existent. No idea if every watch will be the same but Amazon returns are sooo good in UK that I decided to send it back and try the Addiesdive diver which came to my attention by recommendation from a couple of sources. I’ll find out on Friday. If you want a daily/breaker watch with lots of high quality components on a solid metal bracelet then this is a great buy even at the higher price of £68. Great value for the money and a beautiful looking watch.

Acabei de receber o produto, tive um pequeno problema com o app da Amazon, que congelou em uma das etapas de entrega e o produto aparecia como se estivesse parado já a quase 7 dias, mas o mais importante é que acabou se ser entregue. Aparentemente, visor não é tão claro para se observar as horas, mas não achei nada que o desabone. No geral achei a qualidade muito boa, principalmente da pulseira que é pesada, visivelmente de elos sólidos e transmite, no geral, muito boa sensação. Conferi o pino também e a parte de rosqueamento está toda certa, já ajusta tendo também hora e data sem nenhum problema. Tenho 19,5cm de pulso e precisarei fazer alguns ajustes na pulseira, o que já era esperado. Garantia e manual o acesso é apenas on-line, prefiro o manual físico, pois, particularmente, acredito que agregue valor a peça, mas ok quanto a isso. No geral satisfeito positivamente com o produto.

Przepiękny zegarek bardzo wysokiej jakości - za tę cenę to w ogóle nie można mieć uwag negatywnych. Działa bardzo dokładnie, wygląda cudownie, mucha nie siada.

Es ist die zweite Invicta Uhr die ich bestellt habe. Überrascht von dem tollen Preisleistungsverhältnis von der ersten Uhr habe ich eine zweite bestellt. Auch diese Uhr besticht durch eine wertige Anmutung und guter Verarbeitung. Überraschenderweise besitzt diese Quarzuhr eine verschraubbare Krone. Ich hatte in den Bewertungen davon gelesen dass einige über eine Undichtigkeit klagen und bin etwas verwundert über diese Detail. Denn es wurde nirgends erwähnt, vielleicht ist es ein neues Modell? ich weiß es nicht. Die Krone lässt sich natürlich nicht so smooth zudrehen wie bei teuren Uhren, aber diese Funktion schützt besser als ohne. Nun, ich würde eine Armbanduhr unter 80 Euro nicht als echte Taucheruhr ansehen. Es ist vielmehr eine schicke Alltagsuhr die mal einen Spritzer Wasser abhaben kann. Das Armband konnte ich einwandfrei mit Sonderwerkzeug die Glieder kürzen. Auch hier gibt es nichts zu meckern. Das Quarzwerk läuft korrekt. Der Verstell Mechanismus ist mit Gefühl zu behandeln, funktioniert auch ohne Einwände.. Die Ablesbarkeit bei Nacht ist nicht wie anders erwartet nicht so hell. Das ist aber meist bei billigen Uhren der Fall. Einzig die Datums-Lupe auf dem Ziffernglas steht nach aussen. Hier sehe ich über kurz oder lang eine Archillesferse bezügich einer Beschädigung. Der Knubbel ist nicht winzig. Der Versand und die Verpackung waren wieder einwandfrei. Die Uhr war noch jungfräulich verpackt und somit die Freude groß. (ist bei den vielen Rücksendungen auch nicht mehr selbstverständlich). Alles in allem gebe ich für diese Uhr eine Empfehlung ohne Einschränkung in Anbetracht des sehr günstigen Preises. Das die Werbung immer einwenig mehr verspricht als das Produkt am Ende hält, ist fast überall so und sollte vor dem Kauf bedacht werden. Update: 15 Monate später ging an der Uhr bei der Winterzeitumstellung nichts mehr, kein Datum keine Uhrzeit ließ sich mehr einstellen. Auch ein Batterietausch half nichts. Somit war die Freude etwas getrübt. Kurz: Bei Invicta einen Fall eröffnet, die Uhr zum Selbstkostenpreis nach Holland gesendet inkl. Rechnung und kurzer Beschreibung, Angebot abgewartet, kam nicht, Reparatur wurde erfolgreich übernommen, die Uhr kam kostenfrei im neuen Kästchen zurück. Der ganze Ablauf sehr professionell und relativ flott von Invicta ausgeführt. Auch das muss mal erwähnt werden, weil es heutzutage nicht mehr selbstverständlich ist. Da wächst das Vertrauen zur Marke. Sehr gut. Weiter so!!!
