Campfire Fishing Pole Roaster for Hot Dog and Marshmallow Cooking on Open Flame

Purchased to donate to my kids' school BBQ raffle, so I cannot speak for functionality of use, but the kids loved seeing it when I brought it in. Seems like a fun way to make s'mores and other fire roasted things! Shipped very fast! Thank you!

This is a pretty neat idea and fun for the whole family - not just kids. The idea of it is what really gets the 4 stars but don't get me wrong, there are some improvements to be made. For instance, I really like that you don't have to bend over or crouch down to get your marshmallows or hot dogs close to the fire. It would be nice for the handle to be a little longer, at least for adults b/c then it would be too long for kids. Having the handle/rod longer would allow you to sit in your seat instead of having to be right next to the fire. Not a horrible thing though. Also, it has a neat device that allows you to flip the food that you have on your prongs. However, the problem with this is that the device is on the end piece right by the prongs - causing it to get hot when you toast the first side. So you either have to flip it quickly or you have to use a stick to flip it. Still a good idea as you have to be able to toast both sides!!

Oh my gosh! Everyone needs one of these. The metal does get hot as one review wrote however I typically wait until the food has cooled a minute prior to taking it off of the skewer. Works perfectly and I love the little jig technique for turning the food. Kids and adults love this. I purchased two of them and they were the hit of the party. So much fun and very good quality construction.

This has been a hit for years so I bought another one for my son. It is actually more functional than any of the other styles that are way boring! I take it camping and even strangers are entertained. It takes a little practice to get the fish to flip the hot dogs over but it is so worth it and fun once you get the knack of it. My 6 year old granddaughter loves it because the hot dogs don't fall off.
