This is a beautiful hummingbird feeder that attracts a ton of hummingbirds. I received a different BHP hummingbird feeder a couple of years ago as a gift and it is still going strong. It’s out year round. I needed another large capacity feeder because I’m going through nectar so quickly I can hardly keep up. I was a little worried about this purchase because several reviewers said the bottom of their feeder only worked right at first and then started falling off and broke. I took a chance based on the fact that I already own another one that works great. Glad I did! I think the problem may be user error. These feeders are very secure when assembled correctly. It is a little tedious to get the base threaded onto the glass globe correctly. It does tend to cross thread easily, but you get a feel for it with some patience and practice. As for it being hand blown glass, I would say it is not. It has seams, so I think it’s pressed glass, not blown, but it is still really pretty. The yellow flowers don’t seem to be a problem. They attract the hummingbirds just like the red ones on my other BHP feeder which makes sense....I’ve never seen hummingbirds purposefully avoiding yellow flowers and only feeding on red ones. One last note....hummingbird feeders with a perch are the best. It allows the hummingbird to rest while feeding and encourages longer feeding times.

UPDATED REVIEW: It took almost 3 years, but the red base on mine has cracked, but it is plastic that I leave outside 12 months out of the year (note the hummers in the snow) so feel like it is expected. The company actually offers replacement bottoms which I have just ordered and hope they work! I miss seeing this feeder up on our deck.UPDATE: By far the best feeder, we live in the PNW so have Anna's all year long here we are in January and this feeder is still their favorite. We have to take it down to clean and fill at night, because if we do it during the day the male Anna's screams his head off and buzzes us until we bring it back. The issue with the bottom not staying on is from people OVER tightening it, it is plastic but not the cheap plastic people are making it out to be. Hand wash in luke warm water, air dry for a few hours, refill and be careful not to screw on the bottom too tightly and it should last the almost year it has for us.

I am sending another review for my 4th purchase of this amazing hummingbird feeder. I got a second (different color of beautiful blown glass) because my 1st stays so busy and after a year saw the first one held up so well, and have now given 2 more as gifts to friends who echo my sentiments as follows: This is gorgeous!! I love that it holds a lot (3.5 cups) of nectar, and it is so easy to fill! I actually use 3 cups of water, boil and add 3/4 cup of cane sugar, stir until melted, cool, add through a funnel and that lasts about a week without any moldiness even in our NC heat/humidity. I was initially worried that I might break it, but it's thick glass, and turned upside down fits perfectly in my sink drain and I can fill it hands free, screw the 2 piece base on and flip it over with zero mess. I am thrilled with these purchases. I just clean in-between with soap and water, and rinse very well before refilling. The hummingbirds love them too and actually sit on the perches, unlike the variety of old ones they would hover over but never sit on!❤️

We have had a red plastic bird feeder that we purchased last year that has seen its better days...we recently purchased a pretty glass bottle bird feeder with copper decorative wire at a garden show...the hummingbirds ignore it. My husband purchased this lovely hand-blown hummingbird feeder for me this past Mothers Day in hopes they would be attracted to this hummingbird feeder. This feeder is very pretty hanging outside my kitchen window and the hand-blown glass is well made versus the red plastic feeder that now leaks. This design has a nice base for the birds with metal shaped flowers and includes foot rests for the hummingbirds that they seem to like. We can not be happier as the hummingbirds (more than we had before) love this new feeder and we are able to enjoy looking at them as they partake in the homemade sugar water we make for them.

This was my 1st year to try to attract hummingbirds to our yard. A friend of mine had a feeder...the kind you purchased at the hole improvement store. I wanted something different because if I didn't attract any, I wanted something that was pretty to look at. Not only is this beautiful, it took a couple weeks but I can tell you that we had at least 8 distinctly different hummingbirds at this feeder every day once they found it. And not only did they fly to it. They lingered on the perches taking large drinks from it so we were able to get good looks at them so yeah I definitely recommend this, just make sure you get one with the perches, I think it makes a difference.

While this is pretty, and well-made, it does not attract hummingbirds. The one we had before, which was identicle to the glass container but with a plastic red and yellow bottom, attracted multiple hummingbirds all throughout the day. We had to refill it all the time. It seems that the hummingbirds do not like either the metal base or the silver color as we have not had to refill the hummingbird food in over a month and typically it gets refilled every week or so. We replaced it with a plastic one that is red and yellow and the hummingbirds have returned. I bought this one because the glass container was the same as our prior one, but for some reason, with the base being a different color it just does not work. We really liked our last one which looked very similar and lasted for a few years but this one just didn’t cut it.

I bought this as a Mother's Day gift. My mom loves it. I was very impressed how thick the glass was. It is definitely great quality! The base isn't as high quality as the glass. It's plastic and a cheap metal but I have no real complaints. for the price, I think it's fantastic!she has two feeders and it seems the hummingbirds like this one better. I think it's the cute little perches they can stand on! I'd definitely purchase one for myself.The packaging was excellent. Shipment arrived exactly as planned. Excellent seller.
