I love my quick shift. One of the best mods you could do for your R6

I installed this on my 2017 R6. I watched a YouTube video on how to install it (type in 20xx r6 quick shifter and watch video by ItsMeEricB on YouTube). Make sure you read the instructions and have all the adjustments as instructions state. Went for a test drive and it really works great (doesn’t work if you want to swap shifter around to the GP style shift 1 up 5 down. Only works 1 down 5 up) but I’ve had it on for a few months. No problems at all.

Takes some time to install but is 100 percent worth it. If your not mechanically inclined and not patient, I would pay to have it installed. There is a few things that need to be measured, in millimeters for this to work correctly. Digital calipers are almost a must in my opinion. Second, this needs to be hooked up to a connector that is under that gas tank. You will need to remove the fasteners and lift the tank to plug it in. The instructions are easy enough to understand and straight foreword. I recommend checking youtube for installation videos, so you can see what is involved before installing. I did that and it was a tremendous help. Install took me about an hour and a half, taking my time

Fit and installed easily. Make sure you tighten everything correctly. Make sure you have all the correct wrench sizes BEFORE installing.

You don't have to remove the whole tank. just the 2 side ones and the top. Even the 2 breather hoses can stay on. You can pivot the tank up and access the grey plug (which is located right in the middle near the lower pivot bolt). Instructions are pretty clear. To turn on the "QS" mode, made sure you are on 2nd gear, pushing towards 3rd gear before switching the main power ON, wait for 15 secs, then release. Otherwise, the switch may not trip correctly if pushing from 1st to N to 2nd. The up shift is so smooth.

Its a must for yamaha r6.. when i bought my 2020 r6 I immediately ordered this qs and worth every penny.. took me 1/2hr to install.. FYI: when testing this on a stand make sure you turn the TCS control OFF!! I got a check engine light because only the rear wheel is spinning. Now i have to take the bike to my local dealership to reset the light.

I installed this on a '17 R6. Twice. I thought I might have messed something up the first time. It just hasn't worked at all. I don't know if it's just the one I received but ... 🤷🏻‍♂️

Explanation is bad, but the shifter itself is awesome. Just gotta find out how to make it gp Shift now!!
