Impressive straight ahead quartet led by great pianist and composer Cedar Walton.Ralph Moore plays tenor and soprano sax in great form,his phrasing is muscular,butmelodic,his soprano features on ''A child is born'' and''Jacob's ladder'' are exemplary.David Williams is fantastic musician,his solo spots on ''Seven minds'' and ''Django''are unbelievable in its virtuosity.Legendary drummer Billy Higgins makes listenerspeechless,the way he feels music,rhythms,harmonies,details,nuances can't be describedby words,just listen-man is a miracle.Cedar Walton shows just all of those things whichmake him one of the greatest pianist and composers in jazz history.He makes intricatephrases easy,music swings and flows effortlessly.Huge five stars for Eastern Rebellionand Village Vanguard.
