AMERICAN WATER HEATER 100093823 Propane Water Heater Thermostat Up to 50 gallons

I was very pleased to receive this in the time promised. When replacing the original thermostat that was contaminated with a lime coating, everything went quite well. However, at the last step of re-attaching the gas tube to the burner it turned out that this new American Water Heater Thermostat had different threads in the housing than the original housing. I checked them visually prior to doing the work involved in the change, but never thought such an exact looking replacement would have a different ferrel nut thread. Much to my dismay I had to remove everything and put the "cleaned" old one back.
