Blue Ox BX1136 Baseplate for Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk , Black

I purchased a new 2017 Jeep Cherokee Trail Hawk and only had a few days to prepare to tow, before hitting the road on an extended trip. I already had the Blue Ox tow bar used with my previous vehicle, and trust the Blue Ox products. They give excellent instructions, my son and I followed them to remove the front plastic fascia from the new Jeep, remove the red tow hooks, did a tiny bit of grinding, install the new baseplate (its in two pieces), and reassembled the fascia. Looks great, comes with all the pieces needed for installation and use. So far, so good, over 1200 miles of towing, 8 stops to disconnect and reconnect. All seems great.

I am using these base plates to install a NSA Ready Brute on my Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk. I have not made the installation yet, but there is good Youtube videos, so I don't anticipate any problems. Unlike some other reviews, the units I received appear unused and all paint and finish is flawless. My only complaint is the hardware bag was open and some washers have migrated out into the box, but I anticipate everything will be there. One of my big concerns was giving up my front tow hooks. No need to worry though as the safety chain tabs are sturdier than some trailer hitches I have seen so I will keep a schackel in the jeep in the event I need to hook up a tow strap. So far, very happy with the product and can't wait to install.

Right base plate had a weld improperly placed, that blocked and would not allow fitting it to the frame. Discovered at the dealership who was to mount it, installer said it looks like the part was moved in the jig during assembly. Too late to return through Amazon, but Blue Ox is offering a piece for piece replacement. Thanks!

Arrived as scheduled and packed well. The picture shown is different then the actual baseplate received for the Jeep Trail Hawk but was the correct baseplate. It is 2 pieces rather then the full bar system as shown. Came with instructions for installing but would recommend having it done by experienced installers since you also need to have the electrical installed.

fits 2016 jeep Cherokee trailhawk perfectly. No drilling needed with this baseplate. However there is a little trimming of the thin bumper lip. Check out the install videos on youtube. The picture does not look like the real base plates. The Cherokee uses 2 separate plates that go in place of the stock tow hooks. Dont forget to check with the dealer to get the "flat tow kit" Mopar part no. 68321424AB . This kit enables the electronic power steering while under tow to prevent a severe tow wobble.

This is the second one I have purchased. 2014 and 2018 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk took the identical tow plate. The instructions not very clear. Find U-Tube video on installation. This will be very helpful.

Works good. One of the bolt holes was off a little but managed to get it installed.

This was the fourth Blue Ox base plate I have installed. They work great. This was however the most difficult one.
