So, this hair...one reviewer said that it is KINKY, and indeed, it is. It is also BIG. If you're looking for big, kinky hair, buy about three bags of this and use 2 and 3/4 of it. I used a combination of ten inch and twelve inch. It had nice length, but I was looking for shorter hair, not longer hair. Anyway, there is a discrepancy in the description of this product -- it says no you can't color it, but then it says yes, you can color it. I box colored mine. BIG MISTAKE. Dried it out and the top back layer of the hair matted fiercely because I couldn't get the dye out. But my stylist suggested deep conditioning and rinsing (with assistance) to get all the dye out. I had to fight the mats for about an hour (and admittedly, was not gently), applied a good conditioner to help make it slick and add moisture back into the hair, after which I two-strand twisted and flexi-rod the hair. Which is why I gave this product four stars. The hair bounced back beautifully, and is exactly what I wanted. (see photo)I do recommend washing this hair before it is installed, as it will loosen the curl. I did not, and wished I did. It was not quite how I wanted when it was first installed. I also highly recommend HAVING YOUR STYLIST PUT COLOR IN YOUR HAIR, if that is what you would like. Don't do it by yourself -- it is too hard to rinse the color out, and you don't want to use box color at all because of how much it dries the hair out. But this is good hair, treat it well and keep moisturized with a mix of mostly water and a little bit of castor oil and jojoba oil (or just castor). I have only had this hair in for about four days, so I can't comment on longevity. But will update, if I remember to.
