Alister Garment Bag

We used this bag to travel to a wedding on transatlantic flights with British Airways and American Airlines. It seems well made with high quality materials. We carried a man's suit, shirt and tie and a woman's dress and shoes, plus underwear etc. There was extra room in the pockets for other items and we probably could have squeezed men's shoes in but decided to carry those separately. The bag did an excellent job and the clothes arrived wrinkle free. We carried it as hand luggage in the cabin, lying flat in the overhead lockers. At the time of travel, June 2022, the bag fitted the BA hand luggage allowance and the AA soft sided bag allowance. Neither airline could provide hanging space, which we were told might be available on request, but in the end this didn't matter. On the way back we packed more into the bag as we were less worried about creases, but the suit and dress remained wrinkle free. It's a robust bag, so it's not really lightweight, but it's as light as it can be given the protection it gives. I would probably use this again for city breaks etc with normal clothes as it does a great job and the extra pockets are a real bonus. Highly recommended.

This is a nice garment carrier. Only issue was that I asked that it not be folded and to despatch as per the picture in a suitable sized cardboard box. This did not happen and was folded several times. Ideally the item should have internal packing so its sturdy and put in a suitable size cardboard box for packing and despatch. Other than that nice item.

I haven't tried it on a trip yet but I did fill it with the required garments and accessories and it zips up nicely. In researching carriers, the biggest issue seemed to be whether it would carry a pair of shows comfortably. Well this item definitely does, size 44 men's. I looked at the alternative leather versions but they were all £150-200 so with my using this only infrequently, it's good value-for-money.

I bought this for carrying different clothes (Tux, 3 shirts, trousers, glasses) and miscellaneous items while performing at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. It did the job from car, to train, to tram and then walking to the venue - and then the same journey in reverse. The jacket, shirts and trousers all came out as well pressed as they were when I left. A spare shirt which I had folded and put in the outside pocket was also crisp and smart. An important feature for me was that it was lightweight and inexpensive. I had previously had a very heavy one with leather features, but it was too bulky. I much preferred this compact and lightweight one. which I could wear on my shoulder, while allowing my hands to be free for carrying instrument cases. I thought the plastic 'leather-look' features were a little unnecessary although they did make the carrying handle comfortable. I wonder how they will look after much more use. Overall very happy with this purchase.

This is obviously a very well made product with lots of different compartments to store items in. However, for me, the huge fault, and the reason I’m returning this item is that there is only one small loop to actually take hangers. Just didn’t work for me.

Plenty of room for all my needs

I will mainly use this suite carrier when cruising. Best way to carry my suites & jacket/trousers instead of creasing them in a normal suite case. This product is good quality yet light & offers good protection. Multiple pockets & compartments. So much better than my previous leather or plastic suite carriers.

It is an update to the old suit carrier that I had, it packs a lot in a small space. I am a musician traveling a lot by van and train and I have been using it for a year now and it works well and it is very solid and well built with practical pockets for underwear, soes and toiletries . Everything is just like new even after filling it with a week worth of clothes and throwing it in the luggage space of a van or bus. So far is very strong. I did not use it on a plane yet so I would not know. I am happy with it, I recommend it.
