Oracle WebLogic Server 11g Administration Handbook (Oracle Press)

I got through a few chapters and then got side tracked, but the chapters I read were very informative and easy to understand and read. Definitely a good reference book and good for someone who hasn't had any experience with WebLogic.

I found it a good and helpful book. I think this the only book available in the Market about weblogic admin.

This is book is quite bad and I would highly recommend looking for other sources of information. Honestly, the manuals that you can download with the product are better off.One of the major failings of this book is its very poor organization. It dumps upon the reader a great deal of information about the internals of weblogic server system before even getting to points about install or startup of the servers. It would have been far better to start with little pieces and then pull away the additional layers as one progressed through the book to understand all the parts.Also the author repeats themselves a great deal, often explaining the same details again in another chapter that were covered in the previous chapter. It reads like he is fully expecting people to just read a section and skip everything else.Another problem that really tells you the author doesn't really work as an administrator of the server is how much he dumps useless programming information into a book about administration. The details of how to use the java classes in programs should be left to the programming with Weblogic books and not stuffed into a book about administrating it.

and did a good job of describing the various aspects of the Weblogic server. Since I do not always have access to online information regarding Weblogic I wanted a book that I could use for reference. Weblogic is not the easiest application to administer. But this book does answer a lot of questions that come up. This book assumes that you have some experience with either Windows, UNIX and some sort of web server.

A useful overview on both install and admin subjects, which is commendable to all are eager to approach Weblogic world.

I'd start saying that this book is just amazing. I've been reading it for just 2 days because I want to get my certification on WebLogic, and I find it too useful for my purpose.I definitevly recommend this book to anyone.

This thing reads like a dictionary/reference and text drones on and on and on - incongruent ideas/content. Not a learning book other than basic concepts. Needs to be rewritten for commonly encountered procedures and configuration.Would NOT buy again as it's too difficult to follow. The chapter titles are misleading in that you expect to find readability but what you get is extraneous text to inflate the # of pages in this book. You'd read 20 pages and it could be rewritten/reformatted into about 3.

If you are mesmerized by the Oracle documentation and the recursive way one document refers to another ,this is the book to go for.It will give you a fair bit of insight into the weblogic ecosystem .Make no mistake the oracle documentation is still very authoritative but it will make more sense after you read this book .Its not only for administrators but useful to developers ,senior developers ,architects alike.

I don't like this book, some examples is not working. It is a little bit a shame for a book for professionnal.Weblogic Server 11g is now oudated by the Weblogic Server 12c version.Honnestly Amzon should remove such book.I would to return this book today, but too late... The window to return the product is close today too :-(.I'm very sad now with this boo, this book is very annoying , just to waste time.
