Best sound ever but ball end does not last on E string
These strings turned my knew classical guitar into something really wonderful. They are simply awesome. I wanted the ball ends for simplicity. I could care less how they look. Unfortunately, the plastic tiny ball end on the 12t or E string lasted all of 15 minutes once tuned. It popped right off. The strings are so great though that I simply tied that string on. They need to use metal balls and larger size for the strings.

I still don't sound like Willie!!!
I was sure that when I purchased these strings and put them on my guitar I'd play just like Willie, but nope! I still play like mediocre old me... oh well they are very nice strings with a nice tone.

Gruesas
Las compre para cambiar las cuerdas de mi guitarra acustica. Resultaron gruesas y no puedo afinar la guitarra hasta el momento.

Still the Best
Last forever. Stay in tune. Good tone. I down tune two full steps with no ill effects.

Great Strummin' Strings, but Take the Good With the Bad
I use LaBellas on my cheap, little, 89-dollar Jasmine acoustic (standard, not classical), and I just love 'em! The nylon E and B strings reduce all that typical, acoustic "pick noise" by a TON, and just make the guitar sound rich and warm all over. No more tin on the high end!Of course, all of the above has been stated in prior reviews, but here's something I haven't seen mentioned too much here: somehow, these Folk Singer strings make strummed chords sound a lot more "chordish" than any steel acoustics I've ever tried. Or to put it another way: the sounds made by the individual strings just seem to fuse together naturally and meld into one big, beautiful "collective note" -- something that doesn't always happen with metal E's and B's (even at the lightest gauges).More than anything else, these glorious chords are what first hooked me on nylons, and they've kept me coming back, in spite of all the downsides.AND BELIEVE ME, THERE ARE LOTS OF DOWNSIDES.As many here have already pointed out, the strings ARE flimsy -- even downright brittle-feeling -- until they've been properly stretched and worn-in. They're also (without exception) VERY poorly-wrapped at the ball-end. I mean, exceptionally bad. Almost like it's on purpose. In fact, these loose, barely-there ball-knots are such a common and well-known LaBella characteristic that several dozen YouTube videos exist just to walk new users through the process of untying and re-wrapping their first sets of Folk Singer strings.Trust me, you'll want to watch a couple of these yourself before you get started. This weird aspect of an otherwise GREAT product is what made me deduct a star from my overall rating. 'Cuz broken guitar strings suck, and strings that pop out of place every two minutes are just as bad.My advice? Never buy just one set of these at a time, and if you're planning on using them live, bring a back-up guitar (or two), just to be safe.NEVERTHELESS, for all their many flaws, I still say these little suckers are worth the trouble just for that uniquely warm and "fused chord" sound they consistently provide.

Melodious strings
If you don’t know the drill by now, here’s the short version. Yes, these strings are used by Willie Nelson on Trigger, his equally famous guitar. While probably not the choice for classical guitar aficionados - if you are after a set of strings that will create beautiful chord tones and spank out some nice licks, you should probably give these a try.I have suffered no string breakage on my classical guitar - but it does take days of playing for the black nylon strings to settle in. Expect frequent tuning until they are done stretching. You will find other companies now entering the “folk” string market - but I doubt you will find any better than La Bella’s 830 Folk strings. I’m happy I settled on these strings for my guitar, who knows, maybe they will find a home on your guitar too!

One of my favorite classical guitar strings
I've used these strings before on my classical guitar, and loved them. I ordered this new set since I do change strings every few months. The sound of the black trebles is very clear and warm., and I like the way the strings look on my guitar. The strings have ball ends which actually makes no difference to me, since I have had no problems with tying on traditional nylon strings either. They settle in very quickly--after a couple of days--but it depends on how often you play your guitar. There is no stated tension for these strings, so when I bought my first set and opened the package I was a little appalled because they looked so thick. I have some arthritis in my fingers which flares up from time to time, and smallish hands (and classical guitars have wider necks as well), so I was surprised that they were not hard to press down on at all. It would of course depend on the action on your own particular guitar. The manufacturer website describes the strings as having medium tension, and this seems about right. Despite the label as "folk singer", I don't thiink these would work that well on a steel stringed acoustic guitar. Those want a really bright tone to their guitars might not like these strings either. While the tone is very clear and pure, it is also very mellow and warm, which is what I personally prefer.

Excellent, well balanced strings
Honestly, I got these because the strings supplied with my guitar were really bad, and I knew that Willie Nelson used these. I was apprehensive to pay such a premium for strings because, as an electrical guitar player, decent strings cost a lot less. However, made the plunge, installed the strings (ball ends, so you need to check if your bridge can accommodate that), tuned up and fired away. Chalk and cheese to what was installed by the factory on my guitar. Lovely sound. And really well balanced across all the strings. They did take a long time to settle in i.e. retain tuning, compared with electric guitar strings, and even steel strings on my other acoustic. I’m not a new guitarist, but new to classical style guitars. I don’t know if these strings are better or worse for tuning stability compared with other nylon strings, but it was longer than I’m used to.But now that they’ve stabilised I’m delighted with them. I honestly don’t think I’d change brand - they sound exactly as I’d hoped they would. Just hoping they last :)Made me wonder how Willie’s guitar tech deals with this, on the assumption he has to put on a new set for every gig lol. I guess that’s why they’re professionals :) Anyhoo. Lovely strings, for me.

1st E string snapped not even under correct tension
Ball end snapped off the first E string only got it up to B and snap it flew off across the room so had to tie it on the conventional wayThe strings are nice and sound good slightly heavy feel like 11-12s with a soft touch just disappointed with the 1st E-string snapping

Tried and trusted
I've been using these intermittently for over fifty years, which tells its own story. However, I would prefer a slightly lighter gauge version if it were available.- though this is just subjective personal taste, obviously.
