Size:17-piece Set Kato Polyclay is the strongest and most durable polymer clay available. This formula is preferred by artists over other leading brands because of its curing properties, vivid colors, and ease of use. 8 spectral colors are available including 4 warm and 4 cool colors, creating a complete color wheel. Neutral and metallic are also available! For best results, knead and condition clay. Once conditioned, create your masterpiece and bake at 325°F (165°C) for 20 minutes.Temperature and baking time may be adjusted within the range of 275°F (135°C) and 325°F (165°C), and between 10-30 minutes. When cured at elevated temperatures and longer times, Kato Polyclay will become harder and stronger, and have an increased surface gloss.WARNING: Do not exceed 365°F (175°C) and avoid open flames. Do not microwave. Not a toy, supervise use by children. Tips to condition1. Cut clay into slices and place on your work tile2. Use Kato ClayRoller (briefly) to compress and soften the clay (this begins the conditioning process and lessens crumbling) 3. Run the clay through your pasta machine on the thickest setting. Fold clay over and repeat, folded side enters the rollers first. 4. Change to the third thickest setting and repeat. Continue until conditioned. Your clay should now be soft, supple and ready to go. Uneven edges are normal.

Looking for durability? Look no farther!
Some of the clays looked a little old, but i was able to condition them just fine with a bit of the liquid clay. Kato is so, so much more stronger than sculpey. Yes it smells a bit like vinyl, even after it cures, but I didn't have an issue with it. When I bake it, I partially cover it, but leave some ventilation. This way most of the unpleasant smell is contained, but any smoking of the material won't get absorbed into the lighter colored clays. I have had some pieces sag if they are left too warm after the baking is done, I have to remove them from the oven and remove the cover or things will sag. Ideally things should be propped up while baking. I am still tweaking my process but I will be using Kato exclusively as soon as I can.

Extremely difficult to condition, smells bad in oven
I wish I had ordered this clay in summer!! I had difficulty with Sculpey & other clays getting too soft in summer heat. I never had any issues having to "condition" any clay - I was putting mine in the fridge! I read other reviews about Kato clay & thought perfect! Now that my house is cold, Scupley & other clays need conditioning & this set - the Kato - is like a brick! I have pounded it, rolled it, sat on it, etc. & nothing softens it to where I can use it alone. I mix it with other clays. Also while it's baking, it releases a peculiar smell that's not pleasant.

Only one blade
The clay blade is too flexible for my needs. And the information promised two blades. They have combined them into one. I am disappointed that I only got one blade.
