Terrific Thrower for the Price
This thing is great. As others indicated, the directions are a mess. The only reason that matters is the initial connection of the axis. Use the washers to level it, look at the picture on the box, and you will figure it out. As far as the upper portion/moving parts, it is incredibly simple. With good directions, it would take five minutes. With none, it may take you twenty. As far as operation, it is great. Not sure what others are claiming when a 250# person cannot press down the pedal. It takes maybe 30# of force to launch. Hard to say, but basically if it is not launching or spongy, tighten the chain on the right. Once that is configured, which only takes a few launches to figure out, there are no issues. It is nice to use the force with your leg rather than your arm. Just to see if the solo angle (this was apparently marketed as a device for you to throw and shoot contemporaneously) was anything other than insane, we each shot two sets of five where we launched and then shot the clays. It is actually workable, although much more advisable to have one person launching and the other shooting. The different launch angles are adjusted by a large screw/wingnut that takes about twenty seconds to change. The way force is applied, it digs in and becomes more stable as your session progresses. You do not need any anchors. There is no breakdown of the unit other than taking it apart altogether. If it has to fit in your trunk you need about eighteen inches or so.This thing overperformed big time. For the money it is a steal.

A great trap for the money
This product is well made, and it works far better than the $32 Winchester trap I bought at Walmart, which was unbelievably flimsy and was returned to the store immediately. As others have said, the assembly instructions are terrible, and one would think that the company would read these reviews and fix that problem. But it was not hard to assemble, thanks to the photo on the box and comments on this website. Even on the lightest tension setting, this will throw clays almost 50 yards. The "step" lever that you stand on with one foot does wobble a couple of inches from side to side when it is in the highest position, so you have to step down firmly and without hesitation. If you try to step down slowly, your foot will wobble all over the place. But that is a minor point. This is fantastic for a single person wanting some shooting entertainment, and it works far better than jerking on a rope to trigger other types of traps I have seen. I don't think you can get much better shotgun entertainment for this price. I have not tried shooting doubles yet, but this trap theoretically can throw two clays side by side according to the owner's manual if you crank up the tension on the launch spring and lower the angle of the arm so that the back clay does not slide off the arm. (There is a clay holding lever, but it is only big enough to hold one clay.) You also can stack one clay on top of the other, although I tried that once quickly just for fun and it resulted in two wobbly clays that did not spin very well or go very far. Depending on where you place the clay on the launch arm, you can get launches in sometimes unexpectedly different directions. But with some practice and making sure I always placed the clay exactly in the same spot on the arm, I have been able to throw clays pretty much in the direction I want them to go, and if I miss the clay with my shot and it lands on grass, the clays seldom break and are reusable. All in all, this is highly recommended. The only thing better than this would be a self-loading electronic trap that can launch a large stack of clays at set intervals, but you are talking big money for something like that.

Excellent for shooting clays while camping
Quality materials, decent directions and works fantastic! The design amplifies body weight (or leg power) to launch the clays so the arm is never under high tension during cocking or while cocked. Very safe of you have kids or dogs (or idiot friends) with you. We have used this over several trips now and launched 3 or 4 boxes of clays from it with no signs of wearing our or getting loose. Great product.

Great Product
Was wanting something that my kids could load themselves and not put them in danger. This is it!! Very sturdy product, went together easily. Several reviews said the instructions were bad, but my 11 year old son pretty much put it together by himself. Used it about 30 minutes and everything worked well. Looking forward to some fun family time in the back yard. If your looking for something easy to use and easy to assemble then this is it.
