Pioneer Alox Swiss Army Pocket Knife, Medium, Multi Tool, 8 Functions, Blade, Can Opener, Silver

This SAK has slightly thicker tools on it, making it a good workhorse. The stronger blades and slimmer scales make it a great EDC, with the downside being no tweezers or toothpick. However this is now my daily carry as it’s reliable and solid.

This is the commercial version of the knife that the Swiss Army used from 1961 to 2008. It is the most practical penknife out there for the money. It doesn't have the functionality of a multi tool but it’s good enough for soldiers in the field. It’s my go to for all sorts of tasks. It’s discreet, well made and durable. The blade holds an edge and the tools are perfect. Anyone who carries a knife for everyday tasks should get one of these.

Great allround pocket tool, very sharp almost razor sharp UK carry legal NON-locking blade about 2.5 inches. The back springs are strong so this knife is a very good alternative to a locking blade, will never close on your fingers if used responsibly. Top Swiss quality and a great price, very durable, sturdy tool also thanks to the Alox (aluminum oxide) handles, surprisingly light and compact. The tip of the can opener works great as a phillips screwdriver and there is an engraving space on the other side of the knife. Same design was used by Swiss Armed forces between 1961-2008, this is the civilian version of the Soldiers knife, only differences are that the Soldiers knife didn't have the keyring, engraving space and had a different logo plus it also had a year of manufacture stamp on the other side of the blade. As it was designed for the army it means its one of the most durable knives on the market from 1961 and this knife will last you for generations. It has a lot better grip than the standard glossy cellidor plastic scales that are on 91mm range Victorinoxes, but doesn't have either toothpick nor tweezers. The "B1" on the end of the product code means that this comes in a blister packaging, mainly made for US market, so don't get scared, this is NOT a fake. Absolutely worth the price as this is made to last ages and also has a lifetime warranty.

Mira que tengo un montón de Victorinox (y las que tuve), pero esta es mi primera alox. Aunque ya la conocía nunca opté por un modelo así. Es ligera, fina, agradable al tacto y más contundente que las de cellidor. Un pelín más grande que las de 91mm tanto en mango como en hoja y abridor. Y con un muelle más potente. No me ha gustado el soporte de la anilla porque me molesta un poco por su posición; además no trae el pulido acostumbrado. No obstante, es una navaja que me gusta mucho.

I love knives!! Got a small collection of them and carry a CRKT Drifter pocket knife everyday(as a tool, not a weapon). This is my first Swiss Army Knife and I definitely love it!!! The dimension (with all tools closed) are: Length: ~93mm Width: ~23mm Thickness: ~11mm The quality is absolutely brilliant. The tools that we get are: 1. a plain edge blade (length: ~64mm or ~2.5inches) 2. a can opener cum Philips head screw driver 3. a bottle opener cum a flat head screw driver cum a wire stripper 4. an awl/reamer (For punching holes in leather, wood etc.) There are no tweezers or tooth pick or corkscrew that we normally see on most SAK's. This is a no-nonsense tool with only those tools which u are going to need day in and day out. So it's pretty lightweight and handy compared to the other models. (Which is exactly what I wanted) The tools are of great quality and have already used everyone of them. This blade was hair shaving sharp out of the box and cuts like a dream. The screw drivers handle most of the screws we see around. The awl is a real useful tool as well... Another major feature that makes this an absolute winner are the Alox scales. That is Aluminium oxide. Looks far better than any plastic scales and also makes this tool tough as hell. The Victorinox Pioneer is essentially a civilian version of the Victorinox 93mm Soldier's Knife designed in 1961, featuring the same tools and construction. Imagine carrying a tool that has been used for such a long time!! Goes to show how good the design is. The downsides (If you want to call them that) might be: 1. That it has no pocket clip. (I haven't seen an SAK model that does). So when you put it in your jeans pocket it tends to sink to the bottom and one has to search for it. I have solved this problem by adding a self-made lanyard onto the keyring. 2. The blade does NOT lock in the open position. so one needs to be careful while using it as it might accidentally close on your fingers. (Again I wanted a non-locking blade since I already carry a knife with a lock blade on me) Who should go for this tool? Anyone who's looking for a handy light weight EDC tool and use for routine everyday tasks like cutting an apple or opening boxes or tightening some random screws around home or workplace would love this baby. Das Victorinox Pioneer Alox ist ein schickes, nützliches, und wie man es aus der Schweiz kennt, qualitativ hochwertiges Taschenmesser. Da das Pioneer keine Säge und Schere hat, ist es sehr schlank und für mich das perfekte EDC. Für die, die sich fragen, wo der Unterschied ist zwischen der Variante Silber und Silber(B1) habe ich ein Foto hinzugefügt. Die Variante Silber(B1) kommt in einer Blisterverpackung.
