The long anticipated, completely revised 4th edition has with over 2,100 chips illustrated, many never published before, with updated listings for hundreds more. Includes updated values, variations, and recently released casino chips from top collections, some available only for this publication. In all $5 million dollars worth of chips are priced in 3 different grades, following CC>CC standards From the first edition (published in 1999) until now, collecting and investing in casino chips has become one of the fastest growing and exciting areas of collecting. This book gives you knowledge to become well versed in this fast-paced hobby. Review: Indispensable Chip Collecting Reference - If you are a collector of casino chips, this is an essential reference. It does not cover all chips made, but it covers the most popular collecting segments of Nevada, South Dakota, Colorado, Riverboats and Atlantic City. James Campiglia put a tremendous amount of work into this publication, and although it is getting somewhat dated at this point, most of it is still very valid and useful. What this book has that most other chip guides don't have, is nice color pictures, not of every chip, but James covered enough "examples" for each casino so you can generally find/recognize what you're looking for. He also addresses condition as a value factor, which other guides generally avoid. He also included lots of historic casino pics, informational snippets about the casinos, owners, and the chips themselves, which are very useful and in some cases entertaining. I use this book almost every day for my chip collecting hobby. James has said he probably won't be doing another edition, but if he did all of us collectors would be in line to buy it. Review: Great reference book, pricing not so accurate - This book was an excellent resource for learning about casino chips. As with any price guide these days, the prices are totally inaccurate. Ebay, unfortunately, is the only realistic source for what things actually sell for these days. A chip guided at $500 possibly sells for $50. For any true collector or dealer, the information about the subject is more valuable than the usual tv show question, "What's it worth?" That question is usually fairly easy to answer once you have learned what you have. The need for good reference books will never go away. And, that is exactly what this book is.

A MUST HAVE FOR A CASINO CHIP COLLECTOR
This Fourth Edition is much better and a lot more detailed than the price guide in the past. And much easier to look up chips this time. I love all the new pictures. If you collect casino chips or a history buff of the past, what a better way to learn about the old casinos as far the chips they used and designs. Thanks

Chips
With this book, there is no such thing as a 'quick look' at or for any particular chip.

Very useful
Excellent and well written book. Has most of the chips on the current market, but finding some on Ebay that arn't in the book. Hopfully they will expand the book in the next addition. The format is very easy to use. A web site to reference with updated / additional photos would be nice.
